You forgot about the Windfury totem from Enhancement Shamans, but I doubt it is going to be as strong as anything else posted on that list.I seriously hope Blizzard turns their mind on their vision about class buffs at some point. It's just annoying and limits raid compositions so much having to bring so much classes just for the sake of buffs.
If you want Windfury (20% chance to auto-attack twice), you bring Enhancement Shaman :)
I'm unreasonably sad about the speed potions :'(
I'm quite happy to see some reduction of these utilities. We will always get new potions coming in, so I'm glad to see that previous content potions can't be used so easily. And I just like going back to some basics. "Bring this class for this effect". I like it.
Health Pots...
Very nice changes, good job.
Great change to the battle rez, now Feral/Guardian have the utility that they sorely lacked, and less so DK/lock dps as well.
It would be great to have Blessings back to buff raid and feel good.
The Shadowlands version of Windfury Totem only gives a 10% chance of proccing an extra auto-attack, and only affects the Enhancement Shaman's party. Given the fraction of damage that typically comes from auto-attacks (low), the benefit is small enough to be completely swamped by typical dps variation between specs. This doesn't count as a meaningful raid buff.
what would a paladin bring though blizzard?
I like the changes. Everythign they do helps to get rid of those %^&*ty just melee mythic+ groups. Ranges MAYBE get taken again this expansion for higher keys...
well i said it before, the reality I imagine is this would really only negatively impact high end key pushes and low number raid comps if you feel the need to stack 20 warlocks for a normal raid then either blizzard has seriously fked up tuning or your strategic thinking is warped
They need to spread the damage debuffs and buffs out a little more. Battle Res and Bloodlust are used by 3 classes. Furthermore, battle res should either be disabled for Blood DKs and Resto druids or available to more/all classes - it is way too impactful and is not just some simple buff or debuff. DKs, Druids, and Warlocks being a near-necessity in a small 5-man comp greatly impacts the viability and usage statistics of every other class. It's a shame to see Paladins offer no utility anymore. They should have access to all the 5% buffs, albeit only one active at a time. Shamans offering nothing but lust is also a shame, they should have the damage debuffs or a combat res other than their own.
Right, but Marks hunters would have to summon their pet, use Primal Rage, dismiss their pet and then they can start dealing damage while their 10% dmg buff ticks back up. Seems like maybe they should just get the ability to use it without all the hassle.
Sorry but i think Dratnos is way off the mark here. These changes will see the most impact in M+, not in raid. In raid you can easily bring one of every class, but if we assume for example that in SL the high keys meta will see a 2 melee 1 ranged setup like the vast majority of BFA was (and let's face it, the dungeon design is pretty similar) then you are stuck in a situation where the only viable ranged classes you can bring are mage/hunter/shaman because realistically, in an high key youre not ever gonna give up BL as a group cooldown. Considering that rogue will also be pretty much a mandatory class with the disappearence of obelisks, that leaves ranged classes without BL in a very bad spot in my opinion. Why would i ever take a lock, SP or Balance druid when doing so would mean loosing pretty much half of the value of BL, the most important group cooldown ever? Realistically this change will make the high M+ meta even more strict, unless mage sucks i can easily see something like tank-rdrood-rogue-DH-mage being vastly prevalent. DH will buff 5% magic damage to mage while mage brings 5% int for himself and drood, rogue provides cc and skip capability, and thats pretty all that will see play, unless of course other ranged classes are INSANELY outdamaging the BL ones, which i honestly doubt considering both mage and hunter have 3 damage specs, at least 1 of them is bound to be good. On top of all this, we then have to factor Covenant abilities which are pretty much mandatory in specific dungeons, while at the same time certain classes are stuck to a specific covenant (say rogue HAS to play Necrolord right now). This is looking to further complicate an already pretty much scuffed meta situation. I foresee fun times ahead.
The game was a lot more fun in legion when they removed class buffs. Bring the player not the class please.
Great changes, it is so good to see the dev team go back to an RPG focus instead of trying the impossibly to please tryhard who will always whine cuz something will always be mathematically better
I'm a big fan of these Blizzard changes, bring the class philosophy is much better than bring a player. Can't wait to see some differences in group compositions
