Most people used RAF to get their friend up to max level quickly. I know I did. This completely murders that. Changing heirlooms to not stack distinctly targets people RAFing their own second account, too. Now, the only way to quickly level a new character is to buy the $60 boost. It's very difficult to wrap my mind around any scenario where this change isn't intended to drive sales of that $60 boost. I know, they want people to level normally, with the great new scaling technology and such. But that is so alien to how many of us actually play this game that it is just blindingly naive. It's one thing to offer players the option to play through at the speed you feel most appropriate. But it's no longer an option. Now you level slow, or you pay $60.
I honestly do not mind this change.
"Doesn't that level boost look really good now? Jeez it sure does suck that Blizzard has nerfed everything to make leveling go by quicker for seasoned players. But have no fear! We did this to help out the little guys enjoy the content that much more! Just remember that the boost only costs 4 WoW tokens or $60 not including tax of course or currency exchanges." -Totally not a Activision-Blizzard Sales Executive
This thing doesnt seem to be planned out as well as it should have been ..... huh ?
They could have at least raised the RaF level to 100. sheesh.
Blizzard: "I don't think people don't like our endgame; better make them play longer until they reach endgame!"Unfortunate that all these poor choices are being made. What in the world happened at Blizz HQ? Collective regression on progress?
I don't have any problem with Blizzard selling $60 boosts. That wasn't greedy. Quick, easy, pay some money to skip the whole process. Fine.My concern comes when they methodically and deliberately remove all alternatives to paying for the boost. That is what just happened. Not the end of the world or anything, I already have 12 level 110 characters myself. But it's just scummy, ya know?
I completely understand not wanting to overwhelm new players with constant new abilities and talents, but why not just give people the option to disable the XP gain instead?
What a ton of crap changes coming to this gameCan we have more legendaries in bfa?and AP, pls
Well this may be more controversial than the last presidential election. Ok maybe not to that extent but yeah getting my popcorn and heading to the forums when I get home lol.
They're obviously not making as much money as they'd want to at this point. Whatever, I'm not buying one single boost. The shareholders can go %^&* themselves.
Calling it now, 97 days til Subraces become playable. The day after every single last remaining "existing" RaF boost expires, so nobody can capitalize on earning 350% EXP while leveling them.
What an absolutely garbage change. All this does is punish veterans who were using RaF to quickly gain alts or those boosting friends alts.It does not make me more inclined to buy the boost, instead it just makes it so I will spend LESS money on WoW, since I will no longer be paying 2-3 extra subs plus the cost of the base game. And this does nothing to help out new players either, since a majority will just use the included boost instead of lvling in the first place!Same, I will no longer be recommending RaF with my friends who want to start playing the game, because RaF now has no proper incentives, instead I will just suggest them to boost a char, then head straight into end game with them instead!Overall this change serves only to punish Veteran players and will earn Blizzard less money. So far everyone I have talked to agrees with me and they are all people who have been having several subs running on the same time for RaF who will now cancel them.
I honestly didn't see this coming, I thought this post was going to be about removing the close level restrictions on RAF because they don't make sense with a scaling world. Got to hand it to them.
OMFG... It's hard not to accept the boost selling conspiracies now.
Sigh..
