Just me or the Hairy Armadillo model doesn't look hairy at all?

Heroic Cookie's Tenderizer.Welp, guess my DK's going Frost and my Warrior is going Single-Minded Fury.
Are all relics/idols/totems becoming nothing but stat sticks now?
Most models for higher-level gear (ilvl 300+) are just placeholders.
Does anyone know what the requirements will be for the Vicious Gladiator gear? Obviously you'll need level 85 but what arena / rated BG rating etc?
I agree also with the relics, to an extent, but I also understand Blizzard's reasoning with this change. Before, relics would boost a certain ability. For some classes/specs, depending on how you play, relics could easily be useless to you. It was like having a really strong glyph. Take Holy paladins for example. Unless you were geared/specced for Flash of Light spam, (in which case you'd use a PvP Libram, as far as I know,) your BiS libram was the Emblem of Heroism libram. You can't tell me that's good design. There were also issues with, say, tank balance (though minor.) Warriors got a few extra stats through their Gun, whereas the other tanks got ability boosts. It balances more or less, but again, if you happen to have a playstyle (or something like that) that doesn't take advantage of your Relic, then you're losing the benefit, and having a stat-stick would be more attractive. Also, they must be random placeholders. Did you look at the Defias Brotherhood Vest? It looks like the Dark Arctic Leather chestguard made by leatherworkers. If they don't give that the defias ninja model, they'll be in for a crapstorm. On that note, wtb level 85 Blackened Defias armor for me rogue.
Is it me, or does PvP gear already suck. I sure hope those are placeholders.
I agree, but if you want to keep everyone happy, then you either have to make dozens of extra Relics (more than one for each SPEC, probably looking at 6 or more per class) or make each Relic OP.Don't get me wrong, it's a boring solution, but I think Blizzard wants to avoid having tons of different relics for various types of situations. Also, it may just be temporary until they can get something more developped off the ground. Blizzard has a habit of putting in boring "band-aid" solutions for things they plan to flesh-out more later.
I hope so. I really do.Maybe even a relic system similar to how the ICC rings worked, though perhaps not based around rep. But then again, maybe based around rep with some kind of Druid clan.Rogue's to get scaling ninja-star's based around rep with Ravenholdt? They could also have an 'On Use' ability at Revered and above which teleports them straight to the rep HQ or something.
That is a very, very good idea! Listen to that Blizzard ^^Scaling items, maybe 3 different for each class. (and if the amount of items is a problem, just chuck out things like Arcane Robe :P)
Your post is all over the place, and you're completely misinterpreting what I'm saying. Did I ever say that's what I wanted? Did I mention that Relics should be OP? I don't recall so.What I'm saying is that this is a temporary fix for something that's going to need a more thorough solution later on. The whole point is that for some specs/classes, the Relic may be useless. This has been the case for Holy Paladins since 3.1. I'm not saying, "Oh, it's bad because it's an ilvl 200 epic" I'm saying it's bad because many paladins have been using the same libram for almost 2 years. Progressing your character and getting new things is fun. That's just not possible when the new libram or relic brought with the patch is terrible.Eventually, they can come up with a solution that makes Relics more appealing on a broader scale. As much as stat sticks are boring, I'd rather an effective band-aid until they solve the problem, over a broken mechanic rotting until fixed.I actually really like Marrakoosh's idea about an Ashen Verdict-style of relic handling. It would solve many issues at once. You could go to your class' primary "faction" or "base" if you will, and they'll offer you paths, just like Ashen Verdict. Maybe even paths within specs? Go to Moonglade as a druid, and talk to the Restoration NPC, who will let you choose one of 2-3 Relics?I really think you should pitch this on the forums. This would also bring some flavour back to classes and class-oriented factions, by having players interact with their "faction" more often.
