Why would Elune know what's happening in the realms of death if she's a representative of life. It feels like there should be some kind of source wall or something between those two realms for powerful entities.
I wish I could have seen the cinematic but since last patch things just hang for 10-15 seconds and then returns to the game.
Alliance scum! We should let Ardenweald burn as brightly as their little tree.
For me this arc of Tyrande and the Night Elves in general has been pretty satisfying. In regards to Tyrande, it's an exploration of her wants vs. her (or her people's) needs. Until now, she was defined by her faith in Elune. As a warrior priestess her faith was the literal source of her power, her morals, her convictions, and so on. Once Teldrassil happened, Tyrande was not only consumed by "vengeance" but I believe she also displays a desire to validate her thousands of years of devotion as meaningful... if Elune didn't intercede on behalf of the Night Elves, then Tyrande would take hold of Elune's power herself and be the vessel of her judgment and wrath. That was her want.As you explained, it's possible that Elune and maybe even the cosmic balance is in distress. Despite Tyrande's wants, what she needed was to gain the realization that her deity was fallible, limited, and possibly in need of aid herself. Tyrande needed to let go of vengeance not only to save her life, but to restore the Night Elves and lead them with her own power and her own conviction... not a goddess's. I'm glad I played the Night Fae campaign to play a role in all of this for sure, and I could see the restored Night Elves playing a pivotal role in coming to Elune's aid in future content.Aside from that, there are a lot of people talking about how denying Tyrande vengeance was bad because it was robbing the character of agency. It's not that she wasn't allowed vengeance, retribution, justice, w/e... it's that it wasn't worth the price of her own life. Arthas too was justified in pursuing Mal'ganis for the good of his people, but relying on a cursed power to do so was ultimately what doomed him and his people. I also think of how Lor'themar protested his people being ordered to Northrend by Sylvanas in return for her aid in TBC. Lor'themar knew that after everything they'd endured that another campaign was the last thing they needed at that moment. In contrast, after the burning of Teldrassil, Tyrande's fury as Night Warrior inspired her to take her distressed people and start another war campaign, even disobeying the King and splitting the warfront to do so... rather than focus on their healing and safety. Thus, Tyrande needed to move beyond dependence on a deity, independent recklessness, and discover her and her people's need for the interdependence which give way to restoration.
yeah the store mounts usually hint at the future. well except the zodiac mounts.
One of the biggest issues I have with the current lore is the pacing and the huge gaps between content updates, it's gonna be months before the next patch (and given the current situation at Blizzard probably longer than they had planned). They keep introducing all these questions and mysteries but the answers are few and far apart, cliffhangers might work with a TV show with weekly new episodes but waiting months to continue the story just makes me lose interest.
Cinematic is gorgeous, story beat is bullcrap, i would rather this went down in tragedy and tyrande self destructed with sylvanas, once again we are denied vengeance because bringing a villain to justice is bad, obviously these writers live smelling up their own farts and cant really think a story that cant have the same morals as our contemporary society on the theme of venceance, specially since there is no authority to uphold justice in warcraft, why cant the healing begin once justice is done? nah screw that we need to forgive sylvanas, fml.I really hope they wake up tomorrow and stub their toes on a coffe table, i hope they step on a lego and that theyre out of coffee this morning.
I really wonder if the writers have had any idea what they've been writing or if they just sit in a room and make sh!t up as the days go on... I hope there's a lot more to this than we what are fed now otherwise it's thin veiled bs af.
!@#$ writing that is what is going on
It's interesting that in night elf lore they're constantly making one bad decision after another...and here is elune, a goddess also prone to constantly making one bad decision after another, views them as her favored children. I wonder if that was an intentional part of the writing. Would be pretty cool if so, she's constantly screwing up but means well and these favored children perhaps remind them of herself and perhaps give her hope.
"became available this week"*last week. That's when I did it, anyway.
It is a good analysis. I would like to add that a later interaction with one of the priestesses of elune who perished causes Tyrande to approach and speak with her. If you interact with Tyrande during the exchange, she confirms she is indeed in possession of Elune's power still.A peculiar thing is that you mentioned there are night elf souls still in peril, frankly, I have never found another night elf soul in the maw since I did all the quests (including the 4 or 5 times Ysera sends us to the maw to save additional souls that I think a lot of people just haven't done. Every race but night elf can be seen in the maw, in my experience. I have been under the impression that everyone was either rescued or destroyed in the form of the amalgam of souls. Not to mention Tyrande was in the maw for a long time, so she would have found either a way to free the souls, or would at this point be very interested in saving those that were still not saved by this point. In my opinion though, if I am right and there are no more night elves in the maw, then they kind of came out on top of all of this thanks to the player/Tyrande/Shandris. Because they are either safe and sound in ardenweald, or met oblivion when Tyrande killed the amalgamation.
Still don't want to be Elune's other whorshipper/children like Thiernax. Hearing Elune speak of her "favourite" children in the Night elves.Hmm mom you could not lend a hand or even a little care when my world and people was destroyed?
How do you contact the author of these articles? In their new article they posted about the girl being booed out of a Blizzcon question, they completely ignore the fact the next girl asks for Moonkin forms to be, "curvier with boobs."
"Even when Tyrande herself accepted this cost, calling on the power with the line 'My life for hers', the Night Warrior's power would fade from her before it could completely destroy her."The suggestion is that Elune herself has been stopping and pulling back, not out of any moral objection, but because she loves Tyrande and doesn't want her to die."You're giving A LOT of credit to storytellers who didn't actually tell that part of the story. It's an alright inference to make, and may be the case, but it's still just conjecture at this point. We don't really know why Elune did what she did.
