Best news ever!
Brawlers Guild - yes, this should be live for every expansion for a long time.Archaeology Profession - this should also be live for every expansion. The only reason why it hasn't been popular is because there have been no new dig sites for the last few expansions. Players like Archaeology. There is no reason this needs to go away.
This article says nothing...
So archaeology officially joins First Aid in the garbage bin. Not surprised, just deeply disappointed (and taking 2 expansions to finally come straight out and say it is BLEH). Plenty of stuff they could've done with it, feels like someone in power didn't like it and just decided to not let anyone else have it (water walking mounts hoopla from 2 expansions ago felt the same way. No reason to do things the way they did unless someone was throwing a fit behind the scenes. Instead we got half thought-out Mount gear) Need to add all rare solves to BMAH and/or trading post.
Delves sound fun and I'm looking forward to playing them and I'm hyped Brawler's Guild is coming back. However, nothing deflated me like learning archaeology isn't coming back. I really hope they reconsider. It was something fun and relaxing to do imho.
The return of the Brawlers Guild is cool, I will finally be able to add their tabard to my collection and collect the other items.Archeology will not come back, it's a shame, but on the other hand, they are not eliminating this profession, in any case, it is impossible given the number of objects linked to it. This would mean making mounts, pets, toys, and many cosmetic and traditional items inaccessible.
Brawler's Guild should long have been made a sort of "Ready for Raiding" training experience/proving ground, just not one where you are just to train but one where you can (CAN, not HAVE TO) work with others and watch as well as be watched. And it should be completely gear-agnostic, scaling to one common level for everyone, to make results comparable. They also should train it so that "base" course is complete'able by anyone with a brain and a modicum of patience and reflexes (making those brawler's rings attainable), but leaving a few way harder challenges for the willing, with relevant mog set or title rewards.I always hated how difficulty of BG was so uneven from xpac to xpac, and how gear sometimes completely trivialized it.As for Archeology... ffs make it an account-wide profession finally, and increase the yields as well as spawn all types of digs in the end. Archeology was unpopular because it wasn't something where you could just pick your aim, and slowly make progress - you had to do insane level of grinding. Just that was enough to put down many mildly interested people who were on the fence at first.
That's a great news! :)
