These answers seem truncated and shorthanded, like they're someone's notes of the answers not a transcription of an interview. Is there a video of this anywhere?
some points I found interesting1.Delves are intended to address progression concerns for more time-restricted players, but group size shouldn't have an effect2. The next thing after 10.2 will be on the PTR a few days later3.Is there concern that player excitement and surprise will be tempered with the announcement of the next 3 expansions? There's still so much more to dive into and to announce with each expansion that should help keep players engaged including a strong cohesive narrative. Features in Midnight are expected to blow players' socks off.(really ok)4. How will you work to ensure that catch-up mechanics don't become overwhelming to players?Warbands will make it that easier for players to maintain several alts at once such as with account-wide renown. Less catch-up with certain requirements. No need to gear-up your Delve companion on every character. (nice qol change)5.Is there a concern that Hero Talents and subsequent additional systems will convolute character progression similar to borrowed power?Team is very conscious of the previous issues with these systems, and it's something they're taking into account. They do still want to lean into the class fantasy side of these new abilities. (im worried about this one)(i dont think this will make to the live game)6. ok account wide gear, I have a mage ,hunter, shaman, warlock. two of those classes wear mail and two classes wear clothhow are they going to adjust this with the loot? so does that mean you can roll on eveything because you have diff classes wearing diff type of gear cloth ,mail ,plate.. I dont know how there going to do that when it comes to rolling on gear in raids mythic plus dungeons..hmmm7. delves in the deep dive they stated the ilvl with be on par with heroic gear ? so we will be on kinda the same playing field as the raid crowd ?8. pvp- are they saying pve gear and pvp gear will also be on the same playing field , how is that possible (I DO NOT PVP AT ALL)
I don't really get the big upset over the 3 day thing, but I realize other people have other priorities. For myself, I play with a few friends, but we aren't likely to do the leveling together as that never really works great in a group anyway. I also don't plan to play every day/night during the first week anyway, so 3 days doesn't make any real difference. And of course, I will be buying the epic version anyway cause it's like $5 more than the middle tier and I appreciate mounts/pets/hearthstone toys.I also don't really get everyone jumping to conclusions about 1 year expansions that won't be as fully fleshed out. It's reading way too much into what they've said imo. I feel like the "Story will be quicker, we don't want you to wait till 2030" was just a reassuring comment to fight off people screaming "We don't want a long drawn out story that doesn't conclude!". To me the 3 expansion announcement is very similar to a movie trilogy. I think each expansion will be well enough contained. I frankly don't really care too much about the story anyway. I can never really follow it even over the course of a single expansion. The most I get out of the story is so and so is the big bad this time.Just my two cents.
What a bunch of vague PR non-answers and half-truths lol. That first questions answer really sets the tone for the whole interview, dodging the question of the AH and P2W concerns entirely.
One concern I have for these three separate xpacs so close to each other is that blizz is going to expect us to pay oodles of cash for each of them but without having major changes to justify the expense. This is a twenty year old game.
