I always love hearing about how they design and upgrade the visuals of WoW. It really is a very important aspect of a game!
I'm so glad they're thinking about options for Demon Hunters. I can't wait! Since all the player models got revamped, I hope they think about adding more accessory/aesthetic options for them, too. (ex. more hairstyles, heterochromia, scars)
"Long answer, but Varian is really growing up."And it struck me while reading this that I have been watching one of my children grow up for half as long as I have been interacting with Varian. So I am very pleased with his character evolution and the fact that you are continuing this. It's very odd to realize I have a sentimentality about Varian and other NPC's. One thing that brought me to the game - and draws me back in, over and over again, is the gorgeous artwork and the incredible world that has been built over these past 10 years. It's quite a feat, seeing that I never played a video game of any kind before World Of Warcraft.I do still have an issue with how square (mannish) faced and linebacker-like my NE-F hunter looks and moves now with the new art, as opposed to the sleek, feminine, slim-faced Night Elf she was the previous 8-9 years. I just turn off the new art when playing her- so I'm glad you left that capability. Looking forward to Legion and new places to explore.
From what I've seen so far the zones look amazing, really looking forward to seeming them more in depth.
Oi! Really? Not even just a *quick* touch up so we goblins (and the worgen...though to be honest, I think they need more work than the gobs...LOL) can at least FIT IN with the rest of the higher res models? C'mon Blizzard, this ain't fair. Yes, Goblins and Worgen are newer, but the graphical contrast between them and the WoD models is pretty damn bad. If it took twisting their arm to fix the moonkin til this expansion, it's gonna take a slow root canal to get them to fix this. :c
The new zones/dungeons look great. Cant wait to see all of the zone when legion launches.
That's a pretty cool description of how they create zones. Just starting with a tree - I like it!
Can't wait for new spell animations :D
Interested to see how some visual spell effects will change to better fit the class "core fantasy". I am hoping that balance druids move away from the golden/solar thematic elements...it's already a stretch to give nature-based spellcasters the traits of a moon priest, let alone those of a sun priest as well. I preferred the original Wrath animation (green lightning ball...raw natural energy).
Loved this panel, great to see the devs talk :)
the art crew is doing some nice work on this expansion so far. Looking forward to the new transmog sets
The art for this expansion seems to be on another level compared to before. I love a lot of the new looks.
Sylvannas looks amazing. And the zones are so bright and beautiful. I cant wait to go exploring!
Still wish they'd update worgen and goblins at some point as well.
I wonder how old is Anduin when Legion comes and how will this affect his new design and wardrobe.
I really didn't like the fury artifact at first. I'm starting to think it's not THAT bad, but... I just wanted to dual wield Gorehowl and AU-Gorehowl.
new spell animations! Can't wait
I see they're allowing separate customization of demon and elf form. Hopefully they'll retrofit similar features for Worgen, sitting with a horrible human form so your Worgen form looks how you want it is... silly.
Really interesting read, thanks
