should be an easy case to close lol this is blatant
China don't give a *!@#
I've played this game lol
And yet, Blizz is working with NetEase to create Diablo Immortal. IRONY.
Sad as it is, I don't see this lawsuit going anywhere soon. Chinese companies are infamous for stealing intellectual property left and right AND they have state support to do so - that's why huge companies like BMW, Apple etc. don't pursue such lawsuits. Chinese government would just shut those companies out of the Chinese market, which is one of the largest markets in the world.
This post was from a user who has deleted their account.
It would be easy, if both companies were in the US. But with the other company being in China this will go nowhere fast. US courts can't enforce any judgment against a Chinese company and Chinese authorities won't give a #$%^. This is pretty much standard business practice over there. They copy everything from Oreos to cars.
they have trademark registered in china, and a chinese version of the game... they definitely can.
People saying China won't do anything don't understand Blizzard has a long working relationship with China, and Tencent is invested in Blizzard. If Daddy Tencent is unhappy about their invested IP being ripped off there will be no problem at all getting this IP Copy Paste company shut down. Beyond that this company is listed in Hong Kong, the British Virgin Isles, The United States, and several other locations as detailed by the link to the actual lawsuit provided above. Furthermore Blizzard are legally obligated to file suit against this company if they want to have grounds to defend their Intellectual property later on. Failing to file suit to protect your IP is pretty much how you lose control of it, it sets precedence as to the usability of your IP, at least in the US.
I encourage anyone to go read the character descriptions of that game in the video link. It's pretty great.
Dunno, it can be a Chinese way to pay homage to one of Blizzard's greatest game of all time. BTW, what about Pandaria expansion, the chinese mounts in the mount shop, or other things. Wouldn't China do the same because it's their Intellectual Property?I remember a Starcraft-like game, called Atrox, that had all 3 simillar races (Hominian > Terran, Createse > Zerg , Intellion > Protoss), and it was great. Theses corporativists are getting more and more selfish in some way, in that some homages are seen as flat out harm to their business. They could be, or just hire them to help improve their own games even more. That chinese game might be those cases that the 'copies are so evident from the original game'... What of the content that WoW has in itself? Lots of the world's greatest source of references are in WoW and I don't see those asking Blizzard's for their rights, unless they did before moving on with them... In that case, good.Edit? What happened to the Today in Nazjatar and Mechagon... posts? Have you stopped with them already? I don't think them time consuming, unless for editing the post for the day, but just to log in a few minutes and check on each map for the stuff is easy, and it saved people some time before logging in hehe. I bet you're waiting for Classic queue first to post later :P Kiddin.
Not gonna lie, the chibi Illidan is adorable as all get out.
The Chibi Illidan is BEAUTIFUL!
Blizzard should just acquire the game and sell it themselves lol it looks well made at least.
even the music is wow. Guldan and sylvanas completely 100% copy.
