This is obviously good but please give dmg meters hooks for tracking Aug's dps, that would solve so many problems.
1-C of the EULA says that Blizzard can not-authorise any software and then you simply can't use it. Rough.Or rather, you can only use software they authorise which likely excludes overlays, or will exclude overlays soon.I don't see this as an issue tbh. It's an arms race that shouldn't exist. Stop trying to one-up Blizz and just let the difficulty level stay where it is.
I feel dumb but legit what are these "Overlays" that they speak of every video Ive seen linked seems to have UI addons and maybe minimap addons... So legit what am I missing?
I guess Season 3 Race to World First won't be decided by who has the best Overlays
Fair enough. I always thought the overlays were kind of skirting on the lines of cheating anyway. Not saying it is cheating, but if you have to use a third party program where would you cross the line? How would Blizzard be able to enforce it? IIRC A similar overlay was classified as a cheat and had patches to remove the ability to do it. They are just doing the same now.On the other hand, Blizzard should also look into WHY such an overlay was needed in the first place to make sure mechanics aren't being overly complicated to the point such a tool needed to be created.
Overlays itself isn't (and shouldn't be) the issue here. Anyone can draw whatever they want over their screens. Think of Twitch overlays, when used for additional info or adverts. Same goes for YouTube and essentially any streaming service. They are doing the right thing to change THEIR game how it provides the info to be used rather than forcing people to not use a feature that has become part of many people's lives, not just gamers.
idc if they are for or against it, just stop making stuff in this game that either encourages having to come up with addons/weak aura/3rd party to solve a mechanic mid fight/ correct a UX issue blizzard is too daft to correct, or stop tuning the raid for the top 0.5% to the point where the common rabble as ourselves need something like this in our crappy AOTC guild, or even CE guilds that kill the boss 2 weeks before a new patch. It will always be an arms race otherwise and not everyone will be happy with whichever side of the fence they land on
Cheating: Create, use, offer, promote, advertise, make available and/or distribute the following or assist therein:cheats; i.e. methods not expressly authorized by Blizzard (whether accomplished using hardware, software, a combination thereof, or otherwise), influencing and/or facilitating gameplay, including exploits of any in-game bugs, and thereby granting you and/or any other user an advantage over other players not using such methods;bots; i.e. any code and/or software, not expressly authorized by Blizzard, that allows the automated control of a Game, or any other feature of the Platform, e.g. the automated control of a character in a Game;hacks; i.e. accessing or modifying the software of the Platform in any manner not expressly authorized by Blizzard; and/orany code and/or software, not expressly authorized by Blizzard, that can be used in connection with the Platform and/or any component or feature thereof which changes and/or facilitates the gameplay or other functionality;for the lazies..
The interpretation of EULA prohibiting overlays is rather far-fetched, if you include :
This is fine provided they stop making encounters that would substantially be made easier by them.
