I'm not a fan of Group Loot personally, but it's still okay to have the option as far as I'm concerned.1) I would very likely not care to be in the groups using it anyway, as they'd be full of the people we have already seen in 4 pages here praising this as the death of pugs. Those of us who aren't killing ourselves for mythic or claiming to be "hardcore heroic/normal raiders" aren't going to change, and the groups built as such will still exist. Conversely, if you're worried the groups using PL are all "bad players," you probably aren't going to fit in with those groups anyway and it's better for everybody's frustration if you sit them out.2) If (as one post put it) 50-60% of pugs are using it, doesn't that mean they wanted the option to start with? Why starve them of the choice?3) New/unknowing players. The option needs to be like a ready check. If everybody doesn't opt in, it doesn't go. If you add somebody after the loot is switched, they're warned beforehand and the loot switches back if they opt out (encouraging you to only invite people you know/in your guild who are always up for your loot rules). It doesn't boot them or not let them join. It can be trolled, but if you're only inviting friends, what's a joke or two between them?I'll be curious to see how our steady group goes. There are some among them I'm sure will hail this as wonderful, I just hope we know each other well enough to not try and screw the whole over for the individual.Suggestion: Assuming they're going back to the little box with the dice/coins option, why not just give a greater weight "need" to people who would have qualified for the piece with PL? If you have an ilevel 232 to my 250 and the piece that drops is 238, you should get the "need" option over me. If it's 252 or 230, we both have an equal chance.
No
*Reads RAID CONTENT*Blizz leaves out WORLD BOSSES (which ARE RAID BOSSES)Wanna bet? How many times people get to WB with alts/fresh characters, and see the high ilvl ones still get the loot, weeks on end, without even the option to trade to the lowbies. Blizz want to make this game inclusive, then do it, it was bad enough to remove the bonus roll from the ENTIRE GAME (should keep it at least for some content drops, like WB).I see the point there about 'merging' smart and group loots. But they still have the means to limit this, if people try to 'stack classes/specs', there should be some kind of limitation, for example, in a 20 raid fight, people try and stack plate wearers (tanks, healers and dps), there should still be, among the 5-loot pool, 1 or 2 from the other armor, dunno.
great, I hope it will be like Legionhopefully that will at least solve the terrible droploot that is nowin addition, this will solve the stupidity that you can't trade an item that has a higher ilvl than you already had (since an item that has completely useless stats for r own class and you can't give it to someone who needs it, it's simply slowing down progress then you really want to play the game when every ID is like this)
Ion, why do you care so much about people "funneling loot"? Who cares? Let guilds get loot they can use more likely and trade amongst themselves. Saying it "breaks everything" is just wrong.
Yeah not a fan, even in a "serious" mythic raiding guild there's going to be bias and the raid leader's pets will get awarded first. I liked the current iteration with untradeable pieces.
Whoever wrote this article is daft af to put that image right with the title...
