inb4 farmville ingridient timers
These posts are mostly about gear. What about alchemy, gems, and enchants? How about inscription, what's the future like for that profession? Will we be able to level our profession without using this new interface? Will we still be able to use Darkmoon Faire quests to help level our professions?
want to see dead realms come back to life? instead of locking AH to specific servers they should combine ALL in one large version that links every one of them together say for example if wildhammer has tons of excess adamantite ore/bars but no buyers due to the fact everyone on that realm has tons but theres a shortage on blackrock since every player is crafting epic gear etc for alts it would help revitalize the market on lesser pop servers as well as promote the free market by opening up new customers on those under performing realms honeslty theres no down side to this since the servers with lots of buyers but no sellers can connect to those with tons of selling but no buying due to lack of mats and gear its a win/win for all
I would just like to see a lot more useful items then a bunch of useless blue and green items to craft in order to level up. Grind to max level creating a bunch of junk that gets vendored or disenchanted. Oh boy! I personally would love to see a more skill based approach to professions. Similar to Ultima Online back in the day where you had 720 skill cap and can distribute that amongst anything you want. I would prefer a profession version of this. Say there is BS, Alchemy, Tailoring, Enchanting and a 400 skill cap and you lock those in place at your desired cap. Max level is 100 per skill where you are a grand master and failure rate is less then 1%. Or you can be a max Blacksmith and Miner to get all the reagents or high end nodes. But if you level BS to 100 and mining at 50 and herbalism at 50 you may only be able to farm ore/herb up to that level, on occasion you may be able to get a higher quality ore/herb but the chances are super low. That way if I want to have a mule.
since crafting gear will be able to compete with M+ gear now (i used to say raid gear but M+ gear is now the end all be all) ... i really feel like raids might as well be removed, since M+ gear is easier to obtain for less effort and now you can combine crafted gear on top of that ... there will be almost 0 reason to raid at all in this new xpac ... glad they are making what i view as the best part of the game be obsolete and pointless to even do
From how I see it Blizz remembered how cool it was to craft Sulfuras and to some extent Thunderfury out of raid drops and decided to have that be the endgame goal of crafting (With some QoL changes to make it more accessable for the casual crowd). And I'm all for it, the legendary crafting system was a decent try at making crafting worthwhile and even though it failed this new attempt shows alot of potential. Also I like the implication that a casual player can craft some legitimatly good gear by investing alot of time. IMO gearing should be a function of time and skill investment, people should be able to get gear with low skill as long as they invest alot of time. And conversely people with alot of skill should be able to get gear with much less time investment.
Very skeptical about BiS gear coming from crafting, I really hated the gold sink required from legendaries this expansion and would not like to have to spend ~20-40k gold on a crafted piece that is better than a M+ or Raid piece.
I'm still iffy about alchemy and how that's going to work, given basically that will more than likely result in a massive gold sink initially given people will want the max potions and the like for the first tier. From what this blue post said this does have a lot of promise, but of course it comes down to actually playing with the system itself before any true judgements can be had of it.So long as its not a repeat of the legendary system, and the initial mention of it did raise my eyebrows a bit given they thought the legendary system we have was said to be "interesting" to them. When the reality was the system didn't work due to the costs associated with it, mainly the orboreal shards as to take a recipe from 1-4 costed 75k in shards. We got lucky this time with the market for the max rank legendaries crashing hard in price. Yet I fear a repeat could be potentially had with this crafting system, which I hope we don't get.
