Some history for those who don't know: This tank ranking issue came from Vanilla, when Furor Planedefiler and other guildies from his Everquest guild (who became WoW devs) took their spleen on especially Paladins. What Warriors have in Vanilla/Classic is called "snap" aggro. A tank without it can't force being the 1# threat in a group or raid (in 40 man raids you can imagine how much aggro 39 others will pull off a tank!). That is what's lacking in both Druid and Paladin tanks in early WoW (so Furor could have his dream game of only Warriors being tanks). No Hand of Reckoning exists for Paladins, for example, as well as no other class will have to get FULL T2 to be ready for raiding. Blizzard locked Paladins as healbots in Vanilla (and by extension, Classic).Paladins kept their EQ ability "Amends" which allows them to Off Tank (OT) mobs, for example. But Main Tanking (MT) is solely for Warriors in Vanilla/Classic.The problem was letting devs take their class spleen and design it into the game itself. It is "elitism" but more due to class hatred (and Furor hates Paladins, he staged riots in EQ over the matter in the day).Paladins and Druids didn't get a reprieve until WotLK. By Cata the game allowed any tank to MT bosses (some were still better for certain bosses than others, but that's okay).Vanilla/Classic isn't the greatest with classes. In fact, it has the worst class design in WoW. The "fun" part of Classic is it's simple design compared to current WoW (that went too far in the other direction trying to make WoW some awful LoL/eSport game to show off on Twitch, too), where people could have fun again playing the game. We used to stand in raids (not jump all over), meaning people were chatting while raiding, as they could key the chat button while still playing the game, too. WoW used to be more social, not min/max only (that came with the awful Gear Score addon).
How are shaman tanks doing?
While I generally don't take issue with the vast majority of things posted here, many of these articles by Rokman are simply harmful. There's tons of merit in detailed breakdowns of what various classes can and cannot do. However, leading articles with an enormous chart that then ignores nearly the entirety of what said classes can and cannot do does a huge disservice to the community. Nobody's going to be butting up against DPS checks in Classic, at any stage. That happened in a time when most people didn't understand Fury Warriors were a viable thing, didn't understand the relative strength of things like weapon skills or spell penetration, and so on. As soon as that became common knowledge in Vanilla, the idea of DPS checks basically flew out the window. Thus, covering almost the entire initial view of this article in a chart showing Tank DPS isn't very helpful, especially when that has almost literally nothing to do with Tank effectiveness in Classic. Including that later in the article when getting into the fine details would make more sense. If want you an image to lead, consider an infographic showing a brief set of pros/cons for each tank, then going into the details below.

Panem et circenses
I thought this was a joke at first. Not a ton of content here that isn't available in other more information dense sections of this site. Even so, a tier list is a very awkward way to rank/compare 3 things. Take a step back and look at that chart as the thumbnail on the home page. You should accept the community feedback and make edits to this article to make it more information dense or provide useful thoughts from players who play these specs in terms of what an aspiring Paladin tank can do to make his B tier choice play like a B+ tier choice. Or something. Anything.Just close commenting, no one can comment on this news because well... it isn't news.
I don't particularly see anything wrong or biased written in this article...Are people just upset because they didn't realize off-specs were so badly flawed in Vanilla / Classic ?
