For those dissing Wrathion- remember that not only is he twelve (so he definitely has room to grow), part of the benefit of him leading the flight (so that the new Aspect doesn't fall to N'zoth's corruption like Neltharion before) is lessened because N'zoth's body and powers are all gone (though he survives in the Xal'atath blade). Any corruption of the Black Dragonflight would have to start from scratch, so any new Aspect would be prepared against the whispers, even if Wrathion being nearly immune to Void whispers would still fare the best. There's also the subject of mortal connections- Wrathion has by far the greatest amount of contact with mortals- enough so that he has an entire organization of spies and agents working for him and for the Black Dragonflight's interests. As for Ebyssian becoming Aspect, I'll repeat what I say every time this comes up- He's the best choice because he's the only one that Sabellian (leader of the black dragons), Wrathion (leader of the mortal agents) and Emberthal (leader of the Dracthyr) can all agree to work for. Wrathion is a powerful loose cannon, but he genuinely listens to and obeys Ebyssian when the larger dragon puts his foot down (and is shown to be the ONLY dragon he truly listens to- even Alexstrasza he treats as a superior but not as his leader), almost certainly because he's his first real, sane, family. Sabellian meanwhile respects Ebyssian's strength and wisdom, and will also likely follow the eldest son of Neltharion. Finally Emberthal, who while not a dragon and thus can't be Aspect, is the leader of the Dracthyr and an important part of the flight, and Ebyssian has made a lot of effort to help her and the other weryns. Ebyssian becomes Aspect, Wrathion stays the Black Prince and gets to keep being himself, Sabellian (most vulnerable to void corruption) commands the actual dragons of the flight, and Emberthal and any dracthyr, drakonid, mortal agent, and dragonspawn are assured that their leader will be considerate of their needs as well.
Sabellian gives me Maegor the Cruel vibes and Wrathion reminds me of Prince Daemon. Ebyssian gives me vibes of Viserys.....a weak king resting upon the successes and failures of Jaeheris. I guess it depends on what kind of aspects Blizz writers want to make. If they want to be "kind" and compassionate then they want to create boring characters. In which case Ebyssian is fit for it. If they want to make fun characters that can create conflict and rush decisions made in anger then Wrathion is the answer. If they want another Neltharion then Sabellian is the answer.Either way I wouldnt want Ebyssian. He does not lead to conflict and that is not fun out of a character in a game that is about warcrafting.
It seems very clear that they are setting up:
Boring.... And its kind confirms nothing, as we know that when they got empowered and became a aspect their apparence changed... look at Kalecgos as exemple.
There is a fourth option, Adamantha the black dragon that stood up to Neltharion on behalf of the Dracthyr and got imprisoned for over ten thousand years because of it. Even if it one of the other three I can see her becoming the aspect's prime consort, a tempering presence on either Wrathion or Sabellian or shoulder to lean on for Ebyssian, and even if they have supposedly uncorrupted black dragon eggs they're going to need more.On a related note, maybe Kalecgos and Tyrygosa can get back together.
