Missing for decades, presumed dead. Mysteriously reappears. Hmmmm, looks like the Dreadlords have thrown their lot in with The Harbinger and the Void after losing in Shadowlands.
I'm with everyone else that his return is suspect. Smells like a dreadlord or perhaps Xal'atath trickery.I wouldn't be surprised if in Midnight or perhaps The Last Titan, the Council of Six is done away with and replaced with the archmage of every race to be more inclusive. Then perhaps a mage over them all like an Antonidas figure that is perhaps elected by the other mages. Of course, that's not assuming the Council of Six aren't all killed when Dalaran goes down. If they are supposedly killed in the fall, I honestly wouldn't be shocked to see the Council of Six become a council raid boss fight at some point during the World Soul saga. That'd then force a restructure of the Kirin Tor. At this point, with humans constantly ending up on the council aside from one blood elf that got kicked off and one dragon who left, it'd take something massive like the Council of Six to be "dead" to have something other than humans on it.Thinking on it, it's possible the Kirin Tor could ultimately be done away with and restructured into something else like how the Argent Dawn eventually lead to the Argent Crusade although there are still remnants of the Argent Dawn. Perhaps the Kirin Tor is going to do something similar.
All I'm saying is we're focusing on Drenden's very sus sudden appearance and "definitely not foreshadow-y" dialogue but meanwhile we also learn in the dialogue with Modera that she is the only one of the Council of Six to have heard the Radiant Song. So my theory is she is going to be the only survivor of the Council in what is to come. Which is honestly fine by me, as besides Khadgar, she is the only one I actually like on the current Council.
This dude 100% has a void worm in his brain.
Welcome Archmage Dreadlord Drenden.
"Is HE the BOMB this time?"
It's not him. He's a faceless impersonating him. Why else would he randomly show up?
Ah welcome back. :)
"Magni tried to commune with Azeroth to learn what the Radiant Song was warning us about but fell unconscious during the process. Hopefully he can recover with the aid of the Dalaran archmages.Magni awoke with new insight into the Radiant Song. Azeroth has been trying to warn us that Khaz Algar, a titan installation from legend, is in danger. Dalaran will teleport to the island to defend it.Dalaran rushed to the aid of Khaz Algar, only for the Archmage Drenden to reveal himself to be Xal'atath in disguise! She attacked Dalaran with an army of nerubians at her command."
Dude does NOT look like its been 40 years since old dalaran. Sus as hell. Would not be suprised if it's literally xalatath with those shoulders looking similiar to hers. Eying the price all along.
And it turned out to be Xalatath all this time
