would be interesting if the fifth god would be Azeroth itself, as a sort of hybrid between a titan and an old god, or a titan transformed or something.too many players tried to kill azeroth at all costs, sargeras, the jailer, they must have known something since they were so zealous.
Hum... It's not Neltharion, it's the fifth Old God himself who wrote it after breaking free from his prison. He's probably in the middle of us all this time, laying low, observing and waiting.
I dont think this is Neltharion. It sounds more like a Primalist, perhaps Razageth? Or Kurog. I say these two since they were on the Forbidden Reach, the former imprisoned there for some time. Razageth most likely. The speech is very similar to how she talks and speaks of the Titans and everything related to them. In Lore the Proto-Dragons came from the elemental power in the world. So it would make sense for it to be one of the Primalist proto-drakes instead. They would have glorified the Old Gods, the Elemental Lords and the Black Empire and hated the Titans influence. As to why Neltharion wouldn’t fit, he wasn’t trying to bring back the Black Empire. He just wanted to raze the world to ash and bring about the Hour of Twilight, which is the release of the Old Gods. He never said or did anything about hating the Titans or wanting to destroy their work. The fifth Old God is not G’huun. G’huun was an experiment created long after Kalimdor was created. The fifth Old God was suspected to be Xal’atath. It was suppose to have been the weaker of the five, defeated and imprisoned long before the Titans showed up. Xal’atath is a Void entity of unknown type that was defeated and imprisoned by N’zoth. I suspect that this Old God no longer exists on Azeroth, so the statement that there are only four would still ring true.
We know that Azeroth is a globe, so there must be some continent between the Veiled Sea and Forbidding Sea.
People don't seem to realize this is an annotated text from vanilla. Not new lore. Only the annotations are new.If Neltharion wrote this, it's definitely after his mind got corrupted by the Old Gods.
Why are people speculating about this? I mean, go ahead, you're welcome to, it's fun, but... people in these comments act like they started playing this expansion, never read Chronicles, regardless of it's context or have the brain capacity of a bad YouTube React. The fifth Old God is obviously Xal'atath. It's been hinted at enough times, she's been made way too prominent in major story beats, for something that started as a Legion Artifact (and one of the only ones still relevant and deliberately placed out of the original priest PC's hands despite still sitting in a bank somewhere). And people were obviously not satisfied with all the N'zoth buildup ending in whatever the *!@# 8.3 was supposed to be. They are leaving Shadowlands behind and picking back up where BFA left off, whilst not pretending the former didn't happen and reintroducing concepts of pre-modern Lore (such as the Aspects, which were a huge portion of the last 'non-modern' WoW Expansion). And it's a decent mix so far, imo.The writer of these notes is Neltharion. Not Kurog, not Raszageth herself (who was imprisoned until she got bailed out by Kurog, I'm sure the first thing Raszageth does is find a titan book in her prison and scribble little notes in it like a petulant toddler - and yes I agree that the way this is written feels out of character for Neltharion. Regardless, this is more likely to be written by him during his time experimenting with the Drac'thyr and that Titan Glove. The Forbidden Reach was where he was in his Pre-Expansion Animated Short with the Drac'thyr. It's where they were very likely created, trained, where he got attacked and ultimately defeated and imprisoned Raszageth by sending her through the Void Portal. So he's been there for quite some time, as some people seem to think Neltharion wasn't in the position where this book was found -- you clearly didn't pay attention, ^&*!@ who commented that. Like, Wowhead comments whenever a @#$%ing Lore tidbit comes up is like watching people debate the first episode of a show to death, that's been out for 13 years. You know next to nothing and the speculation shows it. Danuser ain't that complex, it's clear what this is supposed to be, we know it's been set up, we know which fan theories this is supposed to set up, then subvert. Get your heads out of the sand.
I was soling Emerald Nightmare recently and Il'Gynoth whisper
Bold prediction. Elune is a neuteral/good being "old god" "locked" but not really on the moon. Hence the light tentacles thar took Yesera to the shadowlands and letting the world tree die and stopping Tyranda from killing Sylv. She seems on the same power level as old god and covenant leaders. Probably found on Azeroth when the titans arrived so they classified this "being" at the same power level as an old god, but not everyones definition hence the 4/5 contradictions.
So a fifth Old God is confirmed and isn't reconned anymore eh?
Neltharion notes has a striking resemblence to Qanon conspiracies, is Neltharion perhaps Q, patient zero?
So the Titans is literally the USA? haha that is amazing
