Also, like I said before, you have to factor in the DPS we're giving to others via windfury. Even if apples to apples, in a perfect world, we are lower than every other class on the damage meter, we aren't impotent or unable to bring any meaningful contribution to the raid. I mean SOMEONE is always going to have to be on the bottom of the list, but no class is *useless*. Hell, nobody is even considering all the logs where people got shafted by mechanics forcing them to lose uptime, or are performing some meaningful job that helps beat the boss beyond just tunneling the boss and parse-whoring. My Remnant parse will look like trash because I spend a lot of time running orbs, and that will contribute to "dragging the spec down" on this incredibly unhelpful list that keeps getting posted every week.
Fury coming up from the rear boiz
Really wish they would preface these graphs by saying that literally no one plays affliction. it is currently one of the worst performing specs in raid. the only content they're viable in is m+ on fort weeks. Rapture needs some of the nerfs to be reverted. Not all, some. Aff will always scale, yes. But the nerfs have gutted the spec. No reason why dots should be doing almost as much damage as a spender.
WoW head really REALLY need to STOP posting these articles. Your posting stuff about the lawsuit and all the awful things that are going on to raise awareness and disabling the comments to prevent toxicity but you then turn around and post these for the vast majority of players who this is entirely irrelevant for. Instead people outside of the to 10% of players see this and use this information to exclude or degrade people who play in the specs that are not "meta" or are not using the "meta covenant". While the intent behind this post may be entirely noble the fact is it dose in fact enable toxic behavior among lower end players. If you don't believe me go to the Shaman Forums in the next couple hours and I guarantee there are new posts with a list of people calming the spec isn't viable and is only worth as much as Wind Fury is. Please start thinking about how players will use this information and the ripple effect caused by post like this.
Wowhead should filter 90% for Bosses up to Painsmith then 50% past since the numbers thin out a lot. Since you can assume any player in a guild past Painsmith right now is probably an 80% parser if they get +50% on those later bosses.Either way Mages seem on average middle of the pack which isn't terrible. What really sucks ass is that their BiS specs are in 3 different Covenants. It really pigeonholes Mages badly.
Every time I see someone having a forehead vein burst moment about one of these charts, I have to wonder what their own level of play happens to be.I can't count the number of times I've been able to contribute strongly toward DPS efforts (if not top them entirely) using the spec that is supposedly the worst on 0.001% elite high-end tiny-sample-size ranking charts.
They are a bit slow with buffing some classes this tier. I hope we will see some improvements in the underperforming specs/classes soon.
Imagine if wowhead actually posted the 95th/99th percentile once in a while, where you can clearly see that arcane mage is pretty high and balance is a top 2 spec (99th) or top 6 (but the ones above are all add pad specs and we're on add fights rn so its fully understandable), and them being so high is pretty reasonable if you remember the fact that venthyr boomkin/arcane mage are pretty hard to play, especially compared to brainless nf boomkin playstyle we had in Nathria.
Where's disc priest numbers? xD
I like Guilty but I think he does more damage than good for Feral by writing stuff like this.First off, the chart in general is useless as it shows overall data of all % parses which says absolutely nothing about class-tuning as there are many classes that either don't get played because there are better alternatives (Like most 3x DPS classes) and there are also certain classes that are very underplayed but have a very very good core community like Feral. This also pushes specs like Balance into absurdly low rankings eventho they are actually overtuned af. https://www.warcraftlogs.com/zone/statistics/28#sample=7&dataset=100For a more realistic look for why current tier lists and guilds don't ever touch ferals just look at the max for this weekhttps://www.warcraftlogs.com/zone/statistics/28#sample=7&dataset=100And this trend of Boomy just outclassing Feral in every single possible way also continues in what Feral should be the king at, Single-Target Boss DamageOn which Feral again gets absolutely annihilated while Boomy's still have all of the benefits of being balance that Feral doesn't have, while Feral actually has to use a Legendary that hard-locks him to 1 Target for the highest ST-DPS, while Boomy has absolutely no restrictions at all. Premium extra Boomy-features being: Innervate, 45y range, no downtime, easier rotation especially out of CD's, absurdly godlike burst, MoonkinForm125% Armor, fully 100% uncapped AOE, Typhoon + another Affinity for free and and and...And the biggest problem for Feral in this comparison is that they share the same class, so there is absolutely no reason at all to take a Feral instead of a Balance, that was the exact same case in 9.0 until now. Or another thing he brings up is :"When we get to Soulrender Dormazain it looks a little worse (and a lot better for some other classes haha) feral plummets to 2nd from last on this boss, if we change this to damage to bosses then "heyyy we're back on top!".Which is true if we look at the overall scores, but if we again look at what ST-Boss damage is actually possible, we see how Feral get's beat again not only by Balance but also by Demo, 2 Rogue specs and even Enhancement.https://www.warcraftlogs.com/zone/statistics/28#sample=7&metric=bossdps&dataset=100&boss=2434So let's take a look at the by far best Boss that a Feral could dream of, Guardian. If there was a reason to ever bring a Feral, it should clearly be this Boss, so lets take a look in the top of this week.https://www.warcraftlogs.com/zone/statistics/28#boss=2436&dataset=100&sample=7So what we see is that even in the absolute best cases possible for Feral he gets beat at his own game. And again not only by Balance by an absurd margin of over 1.1k dps, but also by multiple Raidbuff classes, including melees like EnhS, Havoc, Arms, ArcaneM, Shadow... and also the SubR and Demo.A lot of these even bigger gaps also become even greater from the fact that Feral is also a horrible PI target as he especially after the Haste-Aura nerf scales extremely bad with Haste and has since then not been compensated for it while Boomy got Roar, lul The final and best proof of this is actually Guilty's own guild, he talks about Feral's performance as very strong and super competitive, but somehow his own guild is recruiting every single DPS-Class... besides 2... Survival and yes you have guessed it already, Feral. And not only this, it get's even more spicy, his own guild benched him on their last 3 bosses, Guardian (Best Case Feral Fight), Fatescribe, and Kel while also having been benched on Remnant (Second Best Feral Fight) before already.Reality is exactly like Max from Limit said it already, for Feral to be viable with his current kit, needs to be at least 10-15% dps ahead of every other melee-dps on ST, just for a chance at a melee spot, and such overly positive posts just send a false message to both new players and the dev's, that the current state of Feral is not only fine but actually good. So on this note, Enshu-falah-nah.
