Only way to fix it at this point is to give Ally OP racials or some sort of leg up. Evening the playing field will still keep the scales weighed to horde heavily.
If you want mythic raiding and any other top end you have to go horde, abandon your friends, family, etc if you want to do it you go horde. if you're only interested in AOTC / heroic you can go anywhere however more will be on the horde as people step down from mythic raiding for something more casual (ie not wiping 500 times to just be halfway done the mythic tier and onto more wipes for the cutting edge achieve).
Balancing racials and free transfers won't help.Let's just get rid of the faction barrier already, that's the only real fix for this and war mode.
ok, feel free to correct me if i'm wrong. i make these comments and ask these questions (although somewhat rhetorical) with sincerity but don't mind being corrected. i am just replying to everyone citing "racials" as the root cause. imo, unless you are going for world firsts and/or are in those guilds trying to get the server firsts, doing really hardcore min/maxing and pushing the limits, (aka: the 0.1% of the playerbase), then racials never ever meant a damn thing to anyone. any massive exodus to and from one faction to the other, imo, was always a "follow the pack" mentality. "wow, i can't pug on this server cuz everyone is gone, better switch/transfer". you might want to argue the underlying cause for WHY a player of a certain faction finds themselves in a deserted server that was once thriving, sure, i can give you that if you want to make the case. but i think faction racials is at the very very, VEERRY bottom of that argument. you might have a "follow the leader" effect as well. (wow, the number 1 guild on this server/faction/world just switched... better follow them). and the 1%er's might say racials were their prime motiviation, but it is not the other 99%'s motivation. they're just lemmings causing a chain reaction of transfers/switches with completely different motivations. as another commenter pointed out in page 1, (a snowball effect). furthermore, if racials ever meant anything to a ANY majority, it was pvp, NOT pve. racials (imo) was always a hot button issue in the pvp side of this game and non-issue pve. so it's wierd to see everyone jump to the racial conclusion when seeing graphs specifically focused on balance in pve. imo, faction aesthetic/races has a greater influence to balance than racials. (wow, undead are kewl...re-rolling, troll paladins? hell yes! nightborne? sign me up!) what did alliance get? more dwarves, more draenei, and a recycled emo belf? *faction changes to horde*just my 2 cents.
Well careful hordies, MDI showcased some Nightelf cheese that is pretty damn strong - entire team used it to drop aggro and skip huge sections of dungeons. It's a serious advantage to M+ runs.
Hmmm. So many interesting posts/idea about why Horde more popular over the Alliance. I know why ;) Because much better play in the Horde <3 Our part is more interesting. Our land has more interesting and rich view. The horde characters/mob/npc are more meaningful. We ENJOY the life in the Horde. And ...no better purpose fighting for the good/light if the other fraction thinks we're on the dark side. HahahahaThis is why FOR THE HORDE!
just keep living in your illusions like rest of alliance blaming everything everyone whine for nothing and cry these are reasonswhy you have less good players in pve and why everyone who wants to do it goes HORDE,FOR THE HORDE !
My guild has done fine as alliance and achieved Hall of Fame on US servers, plenty of time before it was to close. The only imbalance I see is that since there were a bit more guilds Horde; people that were looking for guilds had it easy if they transferred to Horde, which was most cases for all my buds from the end of Antorus up to even now. The glass of water kept spilling over, and it was just a chance that this imbalance was to happen. But as the glass of water keeps tipping over, the imbalance will only get worse. It won't change as long as more and more people keep faction transferring, means more cash for Blizzard to take in.
The problem isn't only the racials but I also feel the presentation of the faction during both questing and in the lore. Blizzards storytelling encourages feeling Horde pride and discourages alliance pride. If you play Horde, the story conveys a feeling that your faction is powerful, strong and crushes the alliance scum. In many early questing zones you kill and humiliate the alliance. The Alliance on the other hand conveys a feeling of weakness, humiliation and radical pacifism. The Alliance constantly suffers war crimes and atricities by the Horde but the game discouragey fighting back and getting revenge but constantly preaches about peace and tolerance to alliance players and that they are in the Position that they must be understanding and not fight while the Horde can do what it wants. The Alliance is also predominantly the faction to lose zones, cities and important battles. Look at BfA. The Horde destroys Teldrassil and kills mist night elves to the point when the lore speaks of a genocide without many casualties or problems while the alliance barely makes it into undercity where Sylvanas destroys the city under her conditions with only Alliance dying in the explosion and no forsaken civilian casualties as all of them were teleported into safety before the battle.Blizzard needs to discipline their writing theme and fire lead writers who abuse their power to push their favorite faction if we ever want alliance pride and a faction balance
I`m absolutely not surprised in yellings of faction fanatics (here most of them are Horde) under this post. Dudes, this isn`t a place to showing your "pride", this is a post about an enormous hole in faction balance. I played both factions and raided mythics on my Alliance character in Legion: then finding people was much easier. Now find a raid on this faction is quite hard, because rolling to Horde is easier. And my Horde character got better gear than Aliiance despite less time to gear due to "wonderful" balance of loot in emissaries and warfronts. I wasn`t a true hardcore nolife raider 25/8, but this disbalance is really obvious to me.
Snowball, Snowball, Snowball...As numerous people have already pointed out damage in earlier expacs has already created the tipping point for Horde with unbalanced racials. At the moment balance won't help, as it's to far tipped in the horde's favour. This expansion made it worse with the free 10% war mode bonus for being Horde. As we're way past the tipping point only drastic action might help, and 30% bonus to Warmode isn't it. It's still 10% risk less bonus for Horde vs 30% high risk for alliance (30% won't help if it takes 200% longer to do the WQs).And this is why we've so many naysayers proclaiming this isn't a problem, because any solution will favour the alliance - and reduce the hordes current competitive advantages. My suggestion would be:1) Free Realm Transfer for Alliance Players2) Free Horde -> Alliance Race TransfersThat's the only thing that can possibly negate the Horde's recruitment advantage at the moment. And it will be very unpopular with Horde players, but it will happen - as this problem has been ignored to long.
For the Horde !
