Lots of notable characters. I like seeing that. Belmont is my stand-out favorite. Dezco though... ehhhhh, I still remember that guy getting snippy with me in MoP. I remember that, Dezco, you hear me? 😬Volrath better be ok! I hope he's just enjoying retirement on a beach somewhere!
Wow lots to unpack in the comments so far.First, though. This is a great article. In game I would notice the NPCS, but having the back story on them, really brings more meaning to their presence."All the NPCs are chicks"I realize that it was a wall of text, and so many people can only remember the last two sentences they read these days. So, here is a helpful breakdown of all the NPCs listed:
Disgusting to see Daelas Moonfang again and alive. She should be vanished from existance for what she said about the Sisterhood of Elune! I hate that Blizzard is using her and her story to implement Paladins for Night Elves when Priestesses of the Moon ARE Kaldorei Paladins using Elune's Light as a weapon. With that we can already confirm Night Elf Paladins will simple be subserviant of Humans and their Holy Light.
Need more faction war.
Hope we never see the factions at war again. Let us just group, quest and que together.
Where is the Nightborn and Vulpera?
to those who are making arguments against what people want (horde vs. ally, orc vs. human): im sorry but like.you're wrong.it doesn't need to be bfa level, but i pretty much only exist to kill humans.also as a paladin, i only exist to exterminate xenos races. this is why ive picked up warhammer and wc3 stuff a lot recently. it scratches my orc itch.it scratches my fantasy itch.this is a land of fantasy. be it low or high, it has nothing to do with real world politics.and i'd prefer to keep it that way.everyday we're bombarded by real life atrocities and injustices and some of us, especially the neurodivergent nobodies that hide at home, need a place to mentally escape.im cool with sociopolitical nods in other games. i think its awesome in cyber punk. its even fine in baldurs gate (i think because of how natural they make it feel) but with orcs vs. humans (with friends helping on each side(tauren dwarves etc)) i really just want to smash faces.a war on two fronts is WAY more interesting that 1v1 (bfa, TWW) and even MORE interesting would be a world where our factions war and we're caught as peacekeepers or heroes that smash villains and convince leaders to not go off the deepend.what would be even more interesting than that is if specific races of factions broke off and made a third faction? (elves only, or strictly neutral faction?)blizz's writing is really lazy, and there just isn't any talent at blizz anymore. its been obvious for a good while now. shadowlands was the last dying light of writing/conceptual talent leads.now its just marshmallowcraft.either way, i'll just be pvping indefinitely. its all i do in wow these days.
Yeah, because after 30 years of Alliance vs Horde we still need more of that. Really, people? Really?
It's a bit disappointing that Turalyon isn't a fanatic. I thought there would be more hostility between him and the Horde.
Why are the faction leaders, particularly Moira and Dagran, going face first into unexplored and absolutely dangerous war zones instead of staying in their respective kingdoms and rule them? Why is Lillian Voss still present in the game? Why is Jaina and Thrall frolicking in Khaz Algar when they have their own nations to govern? We had Garrosh and Varian prove already that leading from the front can lead to an early grave, why not just dedicate characters that make sense as frontline leaders to be the Horde and Alliance narrative focus points?
Big sad that Dornaa has not had a similar glowup 😔
So many feminist characters. Where are the men?
