Ew incest... Honestly... I liked the original plot better. Garona is a half orc/half Draenei who was genetically altered to appear half human so she could infiltrate the humans, gain their trust. And murder king llane. All, or most of the time being under the direct control of Gul'dan. Not this she really is half human, and her lover in the prime universe is her father in this one BS. And that king llane used her to commit suicide... kinda lame story. Maybe they thought the original was to complex for simple movie-goers... /deepsigh.
I also thought Lothar getting tired of climbing aaaaall the stairs in Karazhan was kind of a nod to how long (wipe)runs used to take back then in the TBC raid.
For any player who spent countless hours going back and forth to/from Stormwind while leveling/instancing (ie.., old Blackrock Depths = BRD runs), the movie's brief visual of a Griffon landing at the SW flight point, with it's slight "hitch" while approaching to avoid the hitting the arch, feels about as "in-game" as any homage.
I don't know if anyone else mentioned it.It was very brief but when Medivh is in the font during the fight scene and is momentarily the Avatar of Sargeras.. when Khadgar enters the pool at the end of the fight and does his thing... as the font drains and the Avatar is defeated it looks VERY similar to the ending of the KJ fight in Sunwell. The "flushing" of KJ.
Curious, why do y'all keep saying Easter Eggs? It's not Easter. Why not just say your are comparing the game/lore to the movie.
In the credits, the sheep is actually listed: "One Take Charlie" was the name given.
If you havent seen the movie go see it. It was great.
"The end credits roll to the World of Warcraft login screen AND music." Would have been so much cooler!
As I said before loved the movie. It is funny my biggest nitpick is that they gave the gryphon's ears.. I did love how Lothar seemed to be buddy buddy with his gryphon.. I do have one question and it may be answered in the Durotan novel but why did he and a lot of the other frostwolves not have their wolves with them. There was only one or two kinda "extra" orcs that seemed to have theirs but none of the main frostwolves seemed to.
I thought the same thing about Medihv being Garona's father. Now I'm gonna have to find the novel and reread it to see if that's a possibility.
You could suggest her to read Rise of the Horde too. It's an awesome book with Durotan as main character.
This guy is in the movie.
They already beamed the world right at us and gave us information overload, which rocks for us fans, but not sure about the layman going into this potential franchise. So I think it was a great idea to just focus on Durotan, Blackhand, Orgrim, and Gul'dan. I LOVE Grom, but it was better to have the other war chiefs take up the filler space in the world, for now. Grom's time is coming.
