the glaringly obvious problem people are ignoring is the lack of progressive small power gains going months into the tier. Whether it be shard tier bonuses, cloak upgrades for corruption resistance, or a simple determination buff week on week. Having all power spikes concentrated around weeks 3-7 of the tier has @#$%ed them in the long run. Yes its a really tough raid but if it was tuned originally to be doable after 8-12 days for world first I doubt this would've caused such a furore. Having the softnerf mechanics through systems etc has saved their ass so many times without them noticing, i think its safe to assume we'll see a return of those in dragonflight, so long as people remember that they're not there to timegate you, they're there to nerf the raid content for you
If you didn't do M+ for gear, then you're stuck without power gains after the initial surge. Plus, until the nerfs, there was no wiggle room for mistakes - you mess a mechanic up, you die. And if your team is small, losing one or two people is a wipe. It'll be interesting to see what they do moving forward for raiding.Forgot to add - that's a frighteningly large list of nerfs. I'm pretty sure that sets a record.
All these nerfs kinda confirm that this raid was overtuned and the most difficult in WoW's life time... not even bosses like the Lich King, C'thun, or Tomb of Sargeras Kil'jaeden had this much nerfs compared to the Jailer, Halondrus, and Anduin.
Can we all agree that compiling boss nerfs per raid like this from teh outset would be amazing?
So many Karens in the comment section, like its excruciating... The raid was perfect. Yes it was hard, yes it had to be nerfed for the lower than top guilds, but it was fine. Its only problem was that it had 1 wall-boss too much. Halondrus being so difficult was the deal and made the raid last 1 extra month for the mid-table guilds. You guys should stop with the 1%. If they dont make the raid that hard then top guilds will clear it in 1-2 days like the Classic raids that ppl thought were hard but got demolished in a matter of hours. Besides those of you who complain havent ever seen the mythic bosses before they got nerfed to match your skill and commitment level. In short, if you are bad, it doesnt matter how much they nerf them, you ll still be dead on cooldown.
