DPSing as a Pally in Vanilla? Hahahahahaha
It's so sad when you spec is useful only for 1 trash pack in 1 raid... and it utterly useless for the rest of the game.
gonna be hard time to think pala can dps?
Riiiiiiiiiiiiight brah
Heh"ViabilityDue to their low damage, Ret Paladins are not generally found in most raid groups"
I believe there is an error in the “Talents and builds” section, the correct setup should be to respec holy
My 1st character (and still have her at max lvl) was a pally.Specced to ret.using a 1h and shield.and healing..i was a mess at start >_<but yeah if u were ret u didnt get raid usually...you were forced to re-spec to holy e_e.
>advanced>rertributionHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAGood thing im gonna play casualsrsly. why tryhard on vanilla?
It's times like these that I'm reminded why I love The Horde. Our sub-par dps hybrid at least brings 15% more strength and 30% more melee attack power to their Strength of Earth and Windfury buffs, Alliance has to settle for a 20% buff to Might. Makes the difference in Blessing of Salvation and Grace of Air sting a little less. The only Ret paladins raiding will be in guilds that wanted another paladin for blessings but couldn't find one willing to heal. So they're carrying them as Ret.
To be fair the player damage will be so much higher than it was in vanilla due to guides and simulations that it will not matter at the sligthest what class you will bring to the raid, bosses will melt anyway.
Thank for the guide. Ret is a pretty memey spec when it comes to actual raids but the guide s still nice for anyone who is looking to do something more casual and focus on some other things.
Unless you're a streamer you will have a bad time as dps ret in raids
I love the compact shape of this post where everything can be expanded through a central menu. This is how EVERY Wowhead class guide should be.Obviously the content was amazing too.
I wish this had been a Spelladin guide, not Ret. Though equally time consuming to farm consumables and whatnots, a Spelladin can actually do sustained boss DPS throughout Vanilla as well as offheal. It's not an argument on how they did on Private servers, it's been shown to be viable on Beta as well as using Blizzard's own SpellPower coefficients and proc rates from Vanilla via this magical thing called math. It's not going to be a play style you see in max progression guilds, but those of us that already know all of the fights, and enjoy playing with our friends will certainly entertain so-called meme specs like the Spelladin, Power Shifting Feral Druids, and even allow a SW:Pain dot spot for a Shadow Priest. With proper gearing these specs can all do mid-high tier damage throughout Vanilla.
I mained a Ret Paladin in Vanilla, trust me it's not something you want to do.
I came here for the comments =)
