This should be baseline no doubt.
They really should just make it so that you need to have purchased the soulfire chisel and then your domination gems don’t get destroyed when replacing them. Having to find it in your bags, click on it and then open your gear every time is tediously repetitive.
Why does every wowhead author overuse exclamation marks? Do you really need to end every sentence with one? The answer is no btw.
I mean, it's awesome of them to have a removal thing, but if it costs 1500 stygia, it's completely useless. Not everybody has 1500 stygia all the time. When I wanted to remove a shard to replace it with a new better one, I had just spent my stygia on other thing at the Death's Advance Intendant (between the Crafting Mark 3 and the Korthian Armors tokens, and on Ve'nari weekly rep quest... so I sort-of had to destroy the shard by replacing it. What did they expect? That I would wait DAYS before removing the shard?
To me, the real dumb design is that if you're not reading all the patch-notes and stuff on WoWHead, you're not likely to know that Heirmir sells the removal tool at all. You might rush in the raid, find a socketable piece of gear and one or two shards, and immediately make the mistake.Let's not forget that for non-jewelers, we have never been able to remove gems before. We always destroyed the previous one.
If you destroyed a shard because you could not farm 1500 stygia to a perma item, that is on you.
i actually almost did this but closed it out to use the item to remove the gem just in case.. yay me..
Third party mod fixes poor UX has kinda been a running theme for a while.
