All you anti capitalists realize that without it there wouldn't be a wow to play, right? It's a business, not a charity. They should be grateful for the opportunity to have had the job.
Classic short-sighted business move. I've seen plenty of layoffs at my own place of employment for "non-essential" employees (aka indirect labor). Jobs that don't directly create or sell product tend to become the first sacrificial lambs. What businesses like Activision forget is that unhappy customers will usually spend their money elsewhere, which is why customer support exists in the first place. I imagine this is going to come back to bite them in the long run. Then again I'm not sure if Activision cares about anything else besides current profits and stock prices.
i knew it would happen.
There is nothing wrong with this. A company's goal is to make profit. It's not a charity. If you disagree, then practice what you preach and start throwing out most of your money on the window every month.Always have a plan B as an employee. I'm prepared, and if I was fired today I would have a job in the next few weeks.Always have a rainy day fund that could keep your family afloat for 6-12 months or more.
