So everybody had time to run to their brokers while waiting in the opening queue. :)
That's because how it was, then it changed with the growth of the game, and only went back to the massive timegate it is now because Activision pulls all the strings.
I agree Blizzard should remove timegating and make progression feel better in retail, and I'd love a talent system style for of progression to be added, but I definitely don't want them to go back to making dungeons and raids all that matter.I reckon a talent system that modifies how the game rewards your time as opposed to player power could be a good step toward letting players choose how they want the game to play for them.
Don't believe the hype people. BFA is between patches Mythic raiding race is done, live players are logd in to grab mounts rep and achievements. Next patch depending on what all is in it, numbers will drop. Next xpac numbers will drop again for classic. Classic will stay alive as long as the streamers can keep it alive. When raids are cleared and the people are in max everything what is left? It's not so much that players wanted the vanilla experience its also next to nothing to do in retail. Things like lack of content in retail should be considered for numbers going to classic. Players log in to have fun. Entering the game and have nothing to do regardless of retail or classic players will eventually stop playing.
I love all of these commenters who think this is actually a great stock value increase, and as if Classic is going to suddenly do wonders for it...News flash, it isn't and it won't. It's still terribly low compared to pre-Blizzcon.And about the article: "Since the launch of BFA, Activision Blizzard's stock has been around $45 for nearly all of 2019."That is some weird wording. Why not just say "Activision Blizzard's stock has been around $45 for nearly all of 2019."Saying "Since the launch of BFA" makes it sound like BFA had anything to do with this, but in reality it's more likely that a terribly mediocre (and just plain terrible for Diablo-fans) BlizzCon 2018 has played a major role in the massive decline in the stock value.
Are you implying that people who like wow classic are now buying actvision stock? Because that seems very far fetched. Since when did the stock price of a company become a measure for video game quality anyway? I hope this website is not going to become the mouthpiece of 4chan and reddit conspiracy theorists, because then I'm no longer interested.
This is a hype like any other. Will SOME people play vanilla for some time and enjoy it? Absolutely. Are those numbers going to be greater then those playing retail? Absolutely not.I will personally not pay for the content that I've spent years doing, that I've done. I understand that some people are nostalgic and some maybe weren't even born when vanilla was there, but the thing is, I cannot relive the same experience because I'm no longer 16 years old (I'm 31), people I played throughout those times are long gone from the game and generally, I'm not the same person. All that being said, I'm happy to see that people are hyped and excited, the question is, how long will that last before people get bored.
Its kinda scary how little people understand about the stock market in these comments. Stocks swing larger numbers when a single person makes asinine tweets at 3am. The number will lower again as the hype dies. Its done this with every major release from Activision and Blizzard, Classic isnt special in this regard. This "article" is just hype bait.
