Long time Rsham here -- I'd love for them to take some inspiration from Hpal's Infusion of Light rework and incorporate something similar into our Tidal Wave procs. We typically overwrite our TW procs with riptide spams, usually for a Primordial Wave setup or just reapplying riptide to someone else without consuming the other stacks first. It'd be nice to see TW work in more ways with healing rain and healing stream/cloudburst totem somehow, to remove some of the unintuitive nature of wasting our procs in the age of Primordial Wave.Pluses of Rsham: I like how we have so many talents that support different types of gameplays, like PW cleaves, Chain Heal AoE (with modifiers and supporting range extenders), super stack situations with Downpour, etc. But please kill "Unleash Life" with a chainsaw... I hate low CD maintenance buttons that could just be baked into other talents or spells, hell even TW procs. It's a waste of a bar button in the age where healers are the 5th DPS.Just in general, and with all the healers (since they have a million buttons), I'd like to see more spells/talents replace existing ones to chop down on bar overload--like make Downpour replace Healing Rain. Simple changes like this. Downpour becomes a stronger nuke AoE heal versus Healing Rain's ticking heal. Possibly add support for a small HoT afterwards on Downpour, so our Deluge talent still works on those targets. Buuuuuuuuuuuut, imagine the Acid Rain Downpour nuke, *heavy breathing*.
I wish we could play more around totems, we have a bunch of them but only 2 feel relevant when you press it. Also, why are we always between playing around riptide with high haste or around fat chain heals? Cloudburst was a great thing to have but they nerfed it so the class is now a bit more boring in my opinion we should keep changing and being a bit more innovative with healing interactions in tier sets and talents for resto shaman.
Seems blizzard is afraid of psychical dmg, i would love them to make stoneskin totem reduce psychical and nature dmg, so we would would have some kind of external. The talent that gives 10% hp for 10s after some heal, should be baseline and please gives us EF totem in shaman tree
i realy hope they base farseer after Rehgar that whould focus on ghost wolf and chain heal, maybe they could make this a melee healer option. but i'realy think this will be the resto/enhi think that stormbringer will be ele/enh because they can focus on all the iconic lightning spells like chainlightning, stormstrike and stormkeepertotemic feels like resto/ele. resto with lowering cd on totems and ele with the summon elemental totems. i wish they bring back the fire dmg totems that way resto could also do some more dmg while still healing in dungeons.
Patch notes 10.3.0Talent changes:- Deludge - removed (strength of Healing toolkit adjusted accordingly to account for the healing loss, position of following talents adjusted)- Choice node Current Control/Tide Turner - removed- Water Totem Mastery - removed (Cloudburst position adjusted)- Torrent - removed - Earthliving Weapon and Improved Earthliving Weapon - removed- Ancestral Vigor is now only 1 rank talent instead of 2.- Deeply Rooted Elements - removed- Position of Wellspring changed, now is choice node with Ascendance (power of Wellspring adjusted to compete with Wellspring - Ascendance big AoE CD, Wellspring short CD weaker CD, on average should do similar numbers in overall healing). Introducing new Shaman Talents (in position of former Deeply Rooted Elements and Improved Earthliving Weapon): - Chain Harvest: Send a wave of anima at the target, which then jumps to additional nearby targets. Deals (205% of Spell power) Shadow damage to up to 5 enemies, and restores (315% of Spell power) health to up to 5 allies. For each target critically struck, the cooldown of Chain Harvest is reduced by 5 sec.- Improved Chain Harvest: Up to 5 friendly targets healed by Chain Harvest will have Riptide cast on them. Up to 5 enemy targets damaged by Chain Harvest will have Flame Shock cast on them. Flame Shock critical strikes reduce the cooldown of Chain Harvest by 1.0 sec.**********************This is something that I would like to see. This is the direction Resto Shamans should go.
I wish they would add more spirit based spells and talents. Just splashing water around is sorta dull.
I hope to see at the very least a modest rework of resto in 11.0. I think there are some fun ideas but I think it was decided that resto trees were "good enough" to be ignored after 0.7.Off topic: can we please get the chain heal animation they made in legion but never put in? I feel robbed
BRING BACK VESPER TOTEMFor real that totem alone made playing a shaman so much fun.
I wish they would redo our mastery when most every other healer have thier's as a front loaded addition to their healing ours is back loaded. While this is ok durning the begining of a season it quickly becomes a wasted stat.
Restoration needs a complete overhaul. The spec has become the most stale of any, without its gameplay changing at all since Lich King, essentially.Half its Talents buff Chain Heal, while the other half are practically useless. Whoever designed its current iteration is honestly one of the worse class designers out there.
There’s no way a talent tree called Stormbringer is not for Ele and Enhance. Enhance literally has a talent called the same and abilities such ss STORMstrike.Ele I think is self-explanatory hehe
Well put together, I agree on pretty much everything. I always level and gear my resto shaman, but eventually the healing gets tedious and honestly, irritating. Maybe I should try something more off meta spec wise and get rid of Primordial wave and cloud burst.. those two alone are just annoying to deal with.
The biggest thing I think you've covered that is an issue is the lack of a groupwide utility buff. Getting SOME kind of totem to increase damage/healing would be nice since they decided heroism/bloodlust should be commodity. The most annoying thing... The cast time on healing rain, so many other classes have instant cast area or multi target heals (druid effloresence, priest POM Circle of healing, monk kick interaction, etc) but we're stuck with a 2s cast on healing rain, which is doubly annoying as it delays our largest damage output on M+ pulls as well. Moving this cast time down to 1.5 sec would be a really nice QOL for the class. We have to cast this spell every 10s, so shaving .5s of cast time commit every 10s is actually pretty substantial. Earthliving weapon being a talent with 2 follow up talents and NOT stacking with runes? Requiring 3 talent points to make it powerful enough to be competitive with a 40 gold consumable is incredibly frustrating. No other classes that have to choose talent points or consumables, why do we? If they rolled all 3 earth living talents into a single talent point, it'd be on budget with it locking us out of weapon consumables. lastly, I can't wait for primordial wave to not be a part of shaman gameplay. It's a horrible talent even when it's decent for healing output and the shaman community has been making tons of suggestions on how to make it actually fun to use for ages - for example ...1. Increase the initial heal so it's not such a joke and we can use it as a decent spot heal (i.e. something closer to riptides initial heal so you get double the initial heal on the PW target)2. Make the Primordial wave buff make the next healing wave ~50% hasted or instant cast so it's not so annoying to time. We're already doing a ton of set up with Unleash life/undulation and trying to get max riptides out before casting healing wave, then when you're trying to utilize it you have to stand and cast a 2s cast while dodging floor mechanics. 3. Or just give us a choice node between chain harvest and vesper totem instead?I know, 3 is just me being bitter that they picked the covenant i enjoyed least, but seriously if they did 1+2 it'd be a trivial amount of extra healing. Hasting a single HW by 50% and adding 35k healing to the PW cast every 45 sec is less than a .5% overall increase, but it'd feel a LOT better to use the talent.
Rather lengthy article to completely fail to mention how Resto Shaman has massive mana economy problems, particularly in M+. Like I keep hearing other specs complaining about running out of mana, but my shaman runs dry LONG before any of my other healers do, and feels like it gets about half as much actual healing for all that mana spent (exaggerating, slightly). Now, that probably has a lot to do with single target heals being way too weak and costing way too much for their value, but if one person is getting picked on and you have no other option but to keep pumping them with heals, you're going to go empty faster than any other healer by a landslide. This is easily the number one issue I want to see addressed. And bring back Chain Harvest (with full Unity effect).
