This is such a $%^&ing weird ass 'fix'.This 'fix' is gonna 'work' for 3 months up until you're Renown capped and unable to Conduit swap again. Good #$%^ing thing that respeccing becomes less feasible once thousands of people have cleared their respective content and would want to start experimenting a little.Thiis is the stupidest bandaid I've ever seen. Like, it's obviously something, but still, it's *!@#ing stupid af.
I get that they don't have my unbelievably lucky titanforged neocortex size/genetics (neoteny as primary evolution mechanism for primates) and related creative abilities (methylation/epigenetics/10,000 hours) but why can't stubborn blizz developers ever spend the time seeking out effective and imaginative solutions.Find a profession that is hurting, say engineering or blacksmithing (it is a conduit forge after all), and give them a device recipe for changing conduits that they can sell just like inscription tomes for talents. Improve the profession while at the same time admitting they made a mistake with conduit forge enforced visit (people trust and like you more when you can own up to and admit mistakes) as well as increasing game enjoyment (win-win-win).As bloodsucking ko-tick and his like-minded accountant "managers" continually demand reduced development to increase their ironic christmas bonuses, this solution based on modifying pre-existing code could be achieved within the needlessly shrinking budgets -- while admitting their current measurement metric is psychopathic (game time played, increased in this case by forcing players back to conduit forge). It's not like they don't just reskin most everything else already for these exact reasons. It's not like conduits aren't a reskin of talents anyways. The problem with uncreative beancounters (who actually believe they are creative) hiring so many alike newer team leads and developers on the asperger spectrum and/or on the god-complex sociopath/narcissist spectrum (triggering a toxic environment where real creatives leave as we have seen/will continue to see) is that they can never get past their own ego and admit mistakes (then actually fix appropriately) -- or find compromises that admire/learn from/allow in reduced form game-wrecking player-discovered creative solutions without simply fun detected/removing them/nerfing them into the ground.
@Druantis, that engineering/profession conduit energy restoration item idea is actually super genius.
A whole bunch of you guys didn't watch Preach's interview with Ion and it shows.Ion explained that the reason they're keeping conduit energy (unspoken/assumed stubbornness aside) is that they don't want an annoying and extremely slow raid where after everyone kills a boss they hearth to their sanctum to switch conduits (i.e. having per-boss conduits)."But rebound," I hear you cry, "what if they added functionality to Tome/Codex to let you switch conduits while in raid?"Here's where you gotta read between the lines a bit: it's not just about letting you be sweaty. Ion understands that anything that top players do (MDI meta/kite meta, Venthyr HPals), everyone else tries to force as the de facto way of playing. So instead of "everything is good, but THIS is the best" everyone thinks "this is the only good option and everything else is trash."Yeah if people wanna do it, it's not a big deal. But then y'all try to force everyone else to be as sweaty as you. And then you have people declining 220+ ilvl for their AotC group and whatnot.
just. get.rid.of it. nothing but arbitrary bottleneck
