I think this is a good change, though these super low recommended ilvl numbers really hammer home just how bad at WoW i am which feels slightly bad lol
I don't think the levels are aligned well. I am ilvl 169 protection paladin and I very barely managed to do TC1 yesterday. I was getting nearly onehit before I started to stumble on +stamina powers. However, I started doing and completing regular level 8 runs something like a month ago (I can't find an achievement tracking this). Of course, I was struggling, but I wouldn't say that regular level 8 is really significantly harder than TC1 which these suggestions imply.
Yeah and i am sure i solo it around 185+ on a BM hunter (since no one wanted to invite me).But hey, BM hunter, we solo 3-5 man group quest stuff, so, cant say its a huge thing really. The floor 16 and 17 mobs did nuke my pet damn fast, but, i had so many tar trap buffs at the end and the "range attack cant hit me" so, i basically kept the last boss rooted in place while he was not able to kill me, still, took some time, think he got to 20+ stack of that thing before he died.I dont recall the floor buffs i had, think it was more spell dmg taken and 2 x fire (in the first floor, i got some insane rare buff, each time i deal dmg, there was a high chance i will deal 10% of my HP as dmg to him and heal myself for as much.Think i ended up with 400k to 450k HP, so, i just killed most mobs with that buff in the end, since all my other power where not that good, bur that thing was hitting for 50k to 120k+ crits if i remember right. So yeah, its all about the power and class people get.
I would like to extend a huge congratulations to everyone flexing their accomplishments in this thread
This jus goes the shadow the expansion was not ready for release last year.
On Reddit, a warrior did it at blue gear ilvl 157 a few weeks ago (i think 1 week into the release of TC)The Arms warrior can be near unkillable if he gets the right powers
Alot of people say how off the recommended iLvL is, but what class did you coast through on? RNG in your favor? Lucked out on the boss? If the recommended iLvL is for SOLO, I don't think they're off-base considering you do have to contend with RNG on anima abilities, what's available from the vendors and the often over-tuned boss for some classes. Most of Torghast wings/TC are so repetitive, it's of little interest other than to do the required story/collect soul ash for additional legendaries, at least for me. That's the only time I go in there. (Actually have four characters that still need to do the "Lion Clue TC" run(s) and have absolutely NO interest in doing that!) The choice is how much time do you have to play, a couple hours? So do one Torghast wing or a LFR, pvp match or two, dungeon, world quests. You can do all of those in the time it can take to clear one wing - not hard to guess what most of the people I know choose.
lol I just did both layers 8 on my 168 alt with literally no trouble
Yeah this is not that useful when your class matters more than your iLvl.My 200 iLvl havoc DH still struggles with 7 and 8 normal Torgast yet my 185 mm hunter does 8s fine.
BM hunter sucks in Torghast. You get virtually no power increase because 99% of the anima powers are worthless garbage. The ones that aren't are minor buffs. By the time you get to floor 16/17 you are finally starting to do some damage, but it's still a third of the damage of other specs. If you don't get the perfect assortment of borrowed power, you get nowhere. Pets are useless and die non-stop, trapping you in an endless cycle of pet rez for 4 seconds, even if you spam mend-pet on CD/MD damage reduction. It's painfully unfun while most other specs are just faceroll hundreds of thousands of dps. You are lucky to end a TC run with 60k dps as BM. Whoever was responsible for class/spec balance needs to be replaced. Doable as BM? Sure. Not fun and not "good." Unless you think doing a third of the DPS of a tank as good.
I guess those ilvl recommendations are based on classes with no self healings such as (no tanks incl):• Marksmark & Survival Hunter• Arms & Fury Warrior• Havoc Demon Hunter• Frost & Unholy Death Knight• Mage• Warlock• RogueOf course classes like DK, Warlock can Death Strike / Drain Life, but having 5% hp and ingaging random mob at layer ~15 in order to heal yourself might kill you, so it's not that reliable compared to casted self-heal.As a Feral during the fire damage over-time debuff Regrowth and other self-heals safed me many times.
Yes, you can complete these layers at lower ilvl. You can complete heroic raid at 185 ilvl. Doesn't mean that should be recommended for everyone.
For twisting corridors you just enter and exit until it gives you one of the torments that sends assassins or hounds after you since they make the run infinitely easier than if you start with other torments. Then you just exploit whatever combination of OP anima powers you class has and pray that you get the anima power that makes you immune for 90 seconds after floor 10 or 12 if you're a class with poor self heals who can't kill the final boss on their own. I have no comments on the ilvls listed because they simply aren't relevant if you use this strategy as long as you're not super low like under 190 or something.
I did TC 8 with 180 ilvl. Had to restart TC7 once because I had zero hp increase powers by floor 12 but the rest was OK. I think they need to do some tutorials instead of suggesting inflated ilvl.
