I believe the perfect solution is to include different vanity rewards for each raid size. Oh look at that sweet fire serpent; she cleared the 10-man version on HM. But that ethereal goat (lol) next to her is pretty sweet too; that guy must have beaten the 25-man version on HM. Vanity gearVanity titlesVanity petsVanity mountsThe rewards should not include anything that has an impact on a player's ability to perform. Both sides of the issue have perfectly valid arguments. We've heard them all before: "In 25-man raids, it's easier to carry a player or two, therefore 10-man raids should give better rewards." "Organizing a 10-man raid is far easier than organizing a 25-man, therefore my 25-man guild should receive better rewards than 10-man raiders." Because both raid sizes have advantages and drawbacks, let's just call it even. If Blizzard wants to remove the shared lockouts without creating a &*!@storm, I believe catering to the playerbase's vanity is the way to do it.
Blizzard need to put higher ilvl in 25 and to leave this way, same lockouts...No point for world competition to see 10 man and 25 man as same rank... its so dumb... i like 25 man and i want it to see as a first choice of all gamers! 10 man is for casuals who play 1 day per week...
World top 3 (10 maybe) could be compared to professional sports, everyone else is playing local rec league.
By that logic, people who are still working on progression would get it cleared much faster, and would get gear faster as a result, if they raided every waking hour of the day. Since Blizzard isn't putting limits on what days or what hours you are able to raid, they're forcing you to be in there constantly because it's the fastest way to get gear, right? People can take responsibility for moderating their playtime themselves- they don't need someone to force them to stop by taking away things to do. I like to raid, but I don't feel that I NEED to sacrifice sleep, family obligations or other hobbies to make sure that I have the most optimal gear available to me as fast as possible regardless of the time requirement. Just like I like mounts, but I don't NEED to do every grind for every one I don't have every day. It IS a choice to what degree you feel the need to be competitive, and there are degrees between "World First" and "Not At All" for people with various levels of time that they want to or can commit to progression.
What about scalable-dynamic raids depending upon how big your group is?There are tier-able minimums for every 5 players, starting at 10m all the way up to 40m(woot, classic!).For example: 10m raid has 2 loot per boss, 15m raid has 2-3, 20m has 3, 25m has 4, 30m... etc...Have health and number of trash mobs scale with that too. Boss health scales as well.
WTB for US and EU!
I was just remarking to a buddy that it would not surprise me if they were to reverse this action and give us MORE raid time! woot!
I would love to see this coming to EU realms !Can't wait to do ICC 2 times a week, 10 and 25 man, and they are finally going to make 25-man raiding more attractive, LOVE IT.
