Since the announcement of Season of the Malignant, players have been preparing to get a headstart in Diablo 4's first season. We have compiled all the things you can and most definitely should do before the start of Season 1 on June 20!

Collect all Altars of Lilith
Collecting all Altars of Lilith in Diablo 4 will do two things for your seasonal character: First, your character will get 68 points to all stats. The fact that Level 1 character stats start in the single digits shows that this is an incredible boost to early-game character power.
Second, collecting all Altars of Lilith in the Eternal Realm will boost your initial Renown level in the Seasonal Realm because altar progress will carry over to all your seasonal characters. Similar to Altars of Lilith, map progress in Diablo 4 carries over to seasonal characters, meaning that you have to unveil the game's map only once. You will uncover most zones while working on your campaign and Altars of Lilith progress - however, you should definitely check your map progression to not miss out on those important Renown points you'll need for Season 1!
A fully unveiled map and a complete Altars of Lilith collection will get you close to completing Renown Level 3 in all zones. With only a few completed Side Quests, getting to Renown Level 3 in all zones and collecting that important second round of 5 Skill Points provided by Renown shouldn't be too much of an issue - but only if you've done your pre-season homework, of course!

Complete the Campaign
The development team has stated countless times that campaign progress will carry over to the Seasonal Realm. This is particularly important because your seasonal character won't have to play through the campaign again, thanks to the Skip Campaign button! This feature allows you to skip the story of Diablo 4 and get into the grind right away.
The "Skip Campaign" button appears at the end of character creation and on the character screen later on.
What we also know already is that leveling in the overworld and dungeons will be more efficient than going through the campaign again. Doing content like Side Quests and Strongholds will progress your Renown way faster in comparison, and running important dungeons for certain Aspects or targeted unique drops will help you progress toward endgame character power levels!

Log In on July 18
This may be the most important tip: Players should log in after Patch 1.1 has been deployed on July 18. This way, character progress will "carry over" to the Seasonal Realm - even if the season per se hasn't even started yet. This is particularly important for Hardcore players because their characters and the progress made with them could be gone in a heartbeat - so don't forget to log in on Patch Day!
