2014 has just started and we've already got some site improvements in place we want to share! We've been tweaking some of our current tools these past few weeks to give you a more user-friendly experience here at Wowhead, ranging from image filters to a new way to browse search results.
For a complete list of site developments, check out our
What's New
page for more details.
Image Sorting
Our popular image galleries for transmog sets, battle pets, and Hearthhead cards can now be sorted! Click on the sort options at the top left of the gallery to check it out.
You can also always view these pages in their traditional layout by clicking on the "Text" tab above the Image Gallery. Items with 3D models also have a special image view--click on the "Gallery" tab to see this alternate view.
Improved Page Browsing
We've added an alternate way to browse search results on Wowhead. If you get a list of results back and don't want to keep returning to that page, you can simply click on an item and then move back and forth between results using the red arrow buttons at the top right. The Up button will take you back to your main list of search results.
Zone Revamp
We've significantly revamped how zones are presented on Wowhead. Dungeons, Raids, and Scenarios are grouped under a new
instances
section and
/zones
now group all zones by suggested level, in addition to continents.
If you're stumped on where to go next or want a change of scenery, check out one of our leveling hub pages to see what questing areas, raids, dungeons, and scenarios are available for your level. The maps on these pages are also clickable as well and take you to specific zones!
Item Enhancement Scaling
In Patch 5.4, enchants, profession perks, and gems had their level requirements removed. You can apply these to any item now, but high-powered items will have their stats scaled down if you are low level. We've always shown scaling on database pages with sliders underneath tooltips, but we added a few more ways to see scaling on Wowhead.
You can now replicate these scaled stats in our item comparison tool and Profiler. In the item comparison tool, just select the character level from the menu at the top left and your enchants and gems will automatically adjust in the stat table and tooltips. For the Profiler, viewing a Battle.net character on Wowhead will automatically display their scaled-down enchants and gems on tooltips.
