Journalist Stephen Totilo recently had a chat with Xbox's CEO Phil Spencer, where he got to ask some question's about Xbox's plans with Activision Blizzard in the future.
According to Totilo, Phil Spencer put emphasis in rising player count for games during their conversation. This increase is achieved, first and foremost, by a title's quality. However accessibility plays a part in widening a game's reach as well. For other Xbox-owned games like Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon, accessibility was achieved by a mix of adding features to the Xbox Game Pass and Free-to-Play elements.
A lot of this talk mostly applies Activision's Call of Duty series and not Blizzard games directly. While there's no indication of WoW going multi-platform, other games Blizzard games like Diablo 4 are intended to release on PC and all consoles.
Continuing on the subject of player numbers, Phil Spencer mentions directly more famous Activision Blizzard IPs and his desire to make them even more popular and accessible to players.
Finally, Spencer commented on Blizzard's previous reputation, calling it synonymous with Pixar in terms of quality, and his desire to bring his brands to that level.
These were insights not covered by Stephen Totilo's recent interview with Phil Spencer for Axios. You can read this interview below, but it focuses on the business side of the Activision Blizzard acquisition.
