Patch 3.3 On PTR! (Quel'Delar... Speculations?)

Hey, so 3.3 PTR came down on us like a sword falling on an iceberg. From the sky. Anybody else really excited about going there and kicking some butt (we'd chew gum too, but we seem to be out of gum...) with Sylvanas and Jaina? 'Cause I sure am!
Anyway, hopefully you are wondering where the stupid metaphor came from. 'Twas all intentional. A little while ago, back in the 3.1 days, when the Argent Tournament first came to existence, something starting drilling in the Lore freaks' heads. Right next to Sindragosa's Fall (where we saw the Lich King raising the biggest frost wyrm of them all in the WotLK cinematic), there was a sword. Sword stuck in the ice, surrounded by some stones, and apparently called Quel'Delar. Related to Quel'Serrar? Or maybe some sort of Excalibur reference? We knew nothing about it, until a few minutes ago when MMO-Champion dug some information from the PTR files. It's only spells, but they seem rather interesting by themselves too...
P.S. Stay tuned, more stuff might appear!
Re-forge Quel'Delar
- Combine 5 Infused Saronite Bars with the Batterd Hilt to re-forge Quel'Delar. You must be standing at one of the Forgemaster's Anvils.
Quel'Delar's Compulsion
- Quel'Delar seems to have a will of its own. It seems to want you to go to the Halls of Reflection in Icecrown Citadel.
Temper Quel'Delar
- Temper Quel'Delar in the Crucible of Souls. Only works inside the Forge of Souls.
Cleanse Quel'Delar
- Immerse Quel'Delar in the Sunwell.
Quel'Delar's Wrath
- Inflicts 2,437,500 to 2,562,500 Shadow damage.
Those are the important ones. The rest include stuff like
Krasus Quel'Delar Credit
,
Summon Evil Quel'Delar
, and
Return Tempered Quel'Delar
, none of which have lucrative spell description.
Couple of thoughts before I leave you speculating to your heart's desire.
The "
Forgemaster's Anvils
" in the first quest probably refer to
Forgemaster Garfrost
, the first boss in the
Pit of Saron
, the second wing of the
Frozen Halls
(Icecrown 5-man)
The sword making you go to the place where the private chambers of the Lich King are...
What the "
Crucible of Souls
" might be is beyond me, but it makes me think of the
Forge of Souls
, which is the first wing of the Frozen Halls.
Immerse/Cleanse it in the
Sunwell
?! That thing we restored back to life when we fought Kil'jaeden? I smell a phasing event...
So... I am half confused. Clearly there is going to be a quest-line involving the recreation of Quel'Delar. It might start off a rare drop somewhere in the Icecrown Citadel, it might start from
Gran Signore Tirion Fordring
. Or it might be something completely new. But it looks like it will be an interesting quest-line, hopefully - accessible to many people. The only thing that concerns me - mildly - is that a spell associated with the sword does
insane
amount of
shadow
damage...
