One of the panels many of us have been expecting today was the Game Systems one - panel about Guild Advancement (leveling & achievements), Path of the Titans, Mastery System, and rated battlegrounds. I am not going to waste your time with introductions - on with the show!
Rated Battlegrounds
Will award
arena points
and
arena rating
. If you win - you gain points and rating. If you lose - you don't lose anything (but you don't gain either - duh)!
Amount of points you can get per week is limited, to prevent grind.
Two ratings - personal and match-making.
Rated BGs will change weekly, and will be the same as the weekend BG. So if this weekend the BG is Alterac Valley, AV will be rated for the entire week.
Honor PvP titles back! At the end of the season, players will be rated and hopefully rewarded with special stuff - namely a unique Rated BG ground mount, titles, and others...
You will be able to earn Guild Achievements and Guild experience from rated BGs.
Tol Barad
New PvP zone, possibly south of Hillsbrad.
A mix of Wintergrasp and Isle of Quel'Danas - PvP objectives and daily quests.
Players will have to capture control points - whoever gets them all, wins the match.
There will be daily quests for everybody (winner or loser), special daily quests for the winner, and a raid instance for the winner as well.
The zone will award Tol Barad Marks of Honor, just like WG. You will also be able to earn Guild Achievements & Experience there.
Guild Advancement

people to be in a guild. It's more fun!
Killing a boss (with more than 75% of the group from one guild), winning a rated BG or an arena match, leveling professions, and earning higher reputation standing will all count towards your Guild Level.
Level varies from 1 to 20.
Guild Talents will not necessarily buff your damage/healing/tanking. They will instead reduce downtime and cost of raids.
e.g. Mass Resurrect, Mass Summon, removal of reagent component for raid-wide buffs, lower repair bills and durability damage on wipe, more gold looter, portion of the looted gold transferred to Guild Bank automatically, etc.
Guild talents will be re-trainable, so you can always respec your guild.
Guild Experience will be converted into special guild currency. You can use the currency to buy guild heirlooms, guild recipes, guild standard, guild mounts, pets, tabards, ...
You will be able to buy special reagents (e.g. Frost Lotus, Dragon's Eye) with guild currency.

Guild Achievements
Some of the current achievements will become Guild Achievements. New Guild-only ones will be added as well.
e.g. Having Grand Master rank in every profession, owning a legendary item, etc...
Complete revamp of the Armory guilds section.
Mastery System
"Boring" passive talents are going to disappear. Masteries will replace them.
This will free up more room for "fun" talents - talents with procs and special additional effects (e.g. Juggernaut and Lightning Overload).
Masteries will be "invisible talents" you get as you put points in your trees. They improve stats the specific tree focuses on. You will gain Masteries only for the talent tree you have the most points in.
For classes with several talent trees that perform the same function (e.g. DPS): Combat Rogues will get Melee Damage, Hit Chance, and Armor Pen, whereas Subtlety Rogues will get Melee Damage, Melee Haste, and Energy Regen.
Path of the Titans
It's a sort of an award for having progressed to the end.
Only obtainable at max level.
The paths are not tied to classes. Possible - more Paths than just "of the Titans"???
The main reward is a new "Ancient Glyph", not tied to Inscription.
Each Path leads to 2-3 Glyphs.
Examples of Ancient Glyphs: Bleed Damage Reduction (rank 1), Bandage Improvement (rank 2), and Breakthrough (rank 3). Breakthrough increases the damage dealt following a critical strike.
Not going to be a Sons of Hodir/Netherwing type of grind.
