BlizzCon gave us a ton of interviews with the Diablo staff and various content creators - we've summarized a few of them, this time with multiple game news outlets!
BlizzCon is always a treasure trove full of information on upcoming features, reasoning behind development decisions, and thoughtful commentary from Blizzard. With so many interviews happening at once, though, things get overwhelming - so we're summarizing Diablo 4 interviews that occurred during the convention for those that might not have time to watch them in full. Take a look at these interviews, conducted by multiple game news outlets!

The Diablo 4 team is split into many smaller teams working on different tasks like live service, seasons, and expansions, which is new for the Diablo franchise. Previously it was one big central team working on a game
"That notion of going from a sort of serial development to parallel development has been a huge learning and a big part of our transition."
Keeping people in their assigned teams to not make one team fall behind on development has been one of the bigger challenges. Everything has to be moving forward at the same time to work
Blizzard is handing out challenge coins to employees for shipping Diablo 4 and for launching each season to recognize and celebrate the work that has been done
" a collaboration with our players to iterate."
Abattoir of Zir was created as a recognition for level 100 player who are looking for more to do in the game

The original class lineup for Diablo 4 honored and embraced the legacy of the past Diablo classes
Vessel of Hatred will be a paid expansion but Blizzard has no details to share on pricing yet
The new Tears of Blood Unique Glyph will be an essential tool to progress within the Abattoir of Zir
A run in the Abattoir of Zir will be over as soon as you die
Abattoir of Zir and the Tears of Blood Glyph will go away at the end of the season
Players can earn 18 unique cosmetics from the Midwinter Blight event that will carry over after the event ends
The Midwinter Blight event will only be available on the Seasonal Realm and not on the Eternal Realm
The Gauntlet is an open-layout dungeon with the goal of trying to get as much score as possible before time runs out

One focus for the devs is that all players have accomplishable goals that they set for themselves
"Ultimately, that is the most important thing that we’re doing when we make a video game is making sure that when you set out to start playing it, the things you want to do you can accomplish in a way that feels fun for you.”

Blizzard wants to honor the legacy of Mephisto, "who hasn’t really had his own game", while telling a new story with the Vessel of Hatred expansion
"I don’t know if we’re going to go to every single corner of Sanctuary ever but we need to hit these places that are so important to the story."
