The Horde Attack
The questline starts atop the Wind's Redemption at the Boralus docks, with Master Mathias Shaw, who sends you to the Proudmoore Keep on
La quiete che precede
. At the Proudmoore Keep, you can see Katherine, Jaina, Tandred and Taelia (who is now going by her full name, Taelia Fordragon) staring at the memorial for Daelin Proudmoore.
Katherine Proudmoore says: How quickly the world changes.
Tandred Proudmoore says: The memorial is very nice, Mother. I like the bit about how you said I was fearless.
Katherine Proudmoore says: Don't make light of a mother's pain, Tandred.
Katherine Proudmoore says: First I lost your brother Derek, then your father, then Jaina. When you disappeared with the fleet, I was all alone.
Tandred Proudmoore says: I'm sorry, mother. But Jaina and I are here now. Thank the tides that the three of us are together again.
Katherine Proudmoore says: So are we... and I am very grateful.
After delivering Shaw's report to Jaina:
Tandred Proudmoore says: Lord Admiral.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: Don't start, Tandred. It still feels strange to hear people call me that. I'd always assumed Derek would become the next Lord Admiral.
Tandred Proudmoore says: Aye. But such was not his fate.
Katherine Proudmoore says: When I think of those Horde savages seizing his body and hanging it on display...
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: It was a ploy to provoke us. To goad us into making mistakes. We will not give them the satisfaction.
Tandred Proudmoore says: Part of me wonders what our brother and father would make of all that Kul Tiras has been through. All that we've endured as a family.
Katherine Proudmoore says: I fear Derek would be disappointed by how I behave. Especially toward you, Jaina.
Tandred Proudmoore says: Father could be hard, but I do think he'd be happy to see us together again.
Katherine Proudmoore says: We've all made mistakes, but we'll weather this storm, dear ones. Together.
Tandred Proudmoore says: We're so glad you're home, Jaina. I believe that we--What's this? Incoming!
The Horde is attacking Anglepoint Wharf! We go together with Jaina and Taelia to Crosswind Commons on
A Pescagrossa
.
Tandred Proudmoore says: THe Horde attack on Norwington's place emboldened them. It was only a matter of time before they struck again.
Lady Jaina Prouddmoore says: We will teach them there is a price for attacking Kul Tiras.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: Mother, I need you to mobilize our infantry and medics.
Katherine Proudmoore says: I will get them moving to Anglepoint at once, Jaina.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: Tandred, take our best ships and sail out to flank them.
Tandred Proudmoore says: Aye aye, Lord Admiral. Where will you be?
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: I will be facing the Horde head on.
Tandred Proudmoore says: HA! They don't stand a chance. Give 'em hell, sister!
Katherine Proudmoore says: Jaina, you should not stand alone. Take <player> and Taelia at the very least!
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: Wise counsel, mother. Champion, Taelia--with me. We'll cross Tiragarde Sound. Meet me by the canal.
When arriving at the canals:
Boralus Youth says: It's the Lord Admiral!
Boralus Youth says: Hi Lady Jaina! Can you do some magic for us? Can I have a water elemental?
Boralus Youth says: Momma says you do ice magic. Can we have ice cream?
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: I'm afraid I have to help some people right now. I'll be back later.
After taking the boat to Anglepoint Wharf:
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: Taelia, what's the situation at Anglepoint? Do you think the Horde means to take out the seagate?
Taelia Fordragon says: I do, ma'am. When we caught sight of the Azerite explosives, we knew what they were planning.
Taelia Fordragon says: The Outriggers and my patrol fought hard, but the enemy was relentless. We were overwhelmed.
Taelia Fordragon says: Galeheart's our swiftest gryphon, so I was dispatched to sound the alarm.
Taelia Fordragon says: I didn't want to leave my company... but it was the only way to get the word out.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: You did the right thing, Taelia.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: Sometimes... sometimes there's no way to save everyone.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: But we do the best we can... and we never give up hope.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: Get ready. We're almost there.
After arriving at Anglepoint Wharf, Jaina literally dispatches of the Orc forces by impaling them in icicles. In
Tenere la posizione
, we protect Jaina as she sends the refugees from Anglepoint Wharf to Boralus.
We then clean up the Horde in
Zero Zeppelin
,
Obiettivi di squadra
,
Respingere l'Orda
and
Alleati sotto assedio
/
Armi per i Chigliatori
. To help us, Jaina freezes the water to allow us safe passage to the other side of the Wharf, as well as borrow us one of the Water Elementals to help us dismantle the Horde.
After that, we prepare to stop the Horde operations by stealing blight masks in
Ballo in maschera
, gathering gunpowder barrens in
Le congiure delle polveri
and freeing one of the local gryphons in
Liberare Piumeria
.
When we arrive at the seagate in Anglepoint Wharf, the Horde is crossing through with a lot of rowboats, which are destroyed in
Preso in pieno!
. Jaina arrives after taking care of a few rowboats, freezing the seagate shut and not allowing any more rowboats through.
We then separate from Jaina and the Outrigger captain, Rosaline Madison, to dispatch Goblin sappers in
Fermare i genieri
.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: Captain Madison! Shall we keep those ships busy while <player> stop their sapper teams?
Rosaline Madson says: Aye, Lord Admiral! The Outriggers never back down from a good hunt.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: Glad to hear it! What's the status of the weapon emplacements on the battlements?
Rosaline Madison says: Between the zeppelins and the ships we were talking too much fire so I pulled my people back. But if they could get there quickly we could lay into those ships with harpoons.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: I can help with that, captain. Hold on!
After gathering Azerite bombs and killing sappers, you're teleported to the top of the Anglewharf seagate, and mark ships for Jaina to sink in
Posta prioritaria
. At this point, a cutscene plays, but it is not available on the PTR. Finishing this quest awards the Feat of Strength
Ri-rivadi, Jaina, ma un po' più a destra!
.
You'll then return to the Wind's Redemption to report to Halford Wyrmbane, in
La guerra prosegue
. Plumeria, the gryphon you saved, will offer you a ride straight back to Boralus!
The Secret Weapon
After returning to Boralus, Wyrmbane sends you to Zuldazar on
Informazioni sensibili
, as Kelsey Steelspark seem to have discovered some important intel. Once in Zuldazar, Megs and Morton Cogsfield talk about their intel, made in conjuction with the Da'kani gorillas: The Embiggifier.
Morton Cogswald says: We present to you--the Embiggifier!
Megs says: The product of Da'kani intellect and gnomish ingenuity.
Morton Cogswald says: Adeptly named, it makes things big.
Megs say: Technically speaking, it converts intelligence into size and strength, but we won't weigh you down with specifics.
Megs say: Our co-inventor, Grong, has selflessly agreed to become embiggified for the greater good.
Morton Cogswald says: Once the process is complete, we'll unleash him upon the Horde!
Megs say: But first, we need to run a small test.
We then test the Embiggifier on a nearby chicken on
Potere definitivo
. The test works, but as chickens are not very smart, the chicken does not grow a whole lot.
It's time to test the invention on a real target - Grong, the co-inventor of the Biggifier! We go to the Gorilla Gorge to meet him in
Una bestia con del cervello
. Grong first wants to see that the Da'kani gorillas are safe, and asks us to dispatch of Goblins and save a few of his friends in
Vita Da'kani
and
Senza alcuna opzione
.
After saving the gorillas, Grong is ready to give his farewells to his kin in
Saluti Agrodolci
. Grong mentions that after the Kaja'mite began bubbling around, he found meaning to his life, and the Embiggifier was his answer. He needed to help the Alliance fight against their poachers in the Horde. In
Il bisogno di tanti
, you ride Grong to Xibala as he talks about the risks and his decision.
Grong says: I know what you must be thinking. Why would any otherwise intelligent beast choose this path for himself?
Grong says: When I heard the gnomes were planning a move against the Horde, I knew I needed to lend my aid.
Grong says: Their device was rudimentary at first, barely able to double the target's size.
Grong says: With my help, the embiggifier now converts intelligence into brute strength.
Grong says: Being the smartest of my kind, it made sense to be the volunteer.
Grong says: It is not without risk, however.
Grong says: The likelihood that my sharp wit will lose its edge is high.
Grong says: But as long as I keep this handsome face, should I really care?
Grong says: I use humor to mask my anxiety.
Grong says: Between friends, I am a little nervous.
Grong says: Mostly I worry I won't be good enough.
Grong says: I want to exceed everyone's expectations.
Grong says: But we're in this together, <player>, right? You won't let me fail.
Grong says: I want to become so colossal that the Horde trembles in fear at the sight of me!
Grong says: Whatever the cost, it will be worth it to see the Horde pay for what they have done.
Grong says: I know the risks, <player> And I accept them.
Grong says: I am ready to become a weapon of the Alliance.
After we bring Grong to Xibala, Morton wants to collect base stats on Grong in
Statistiche di base
. And after calibrating Grong's speed, intelligence and strength, it's time to power him up - We gather extra Azerite to power the Embiggifer in
Un Ingrossatore più grosso
, and calibrate the device in
Calibrare il nucleo
.
After running all tests, we finally embiggify Grong on
L'ingrossamento
. Grong ends up getting embiggified twice to demonstrate his strength.
We then direct Grong to the Temple of the Prophet and test his newfound strength in
Distruzione totale del tempio
. During the quest, Grong enrages and loses control, forcing the gnomes to keep him in chains until he's ready to go directly to Dazar'alor.
We then tranquilize Gronn in
Un bel pisolino
, and prepare him for the time of action. We then, again, return to Halford Wyrmbane in
Agente dormiente
.
The Abyssal Scepter
The next step is reconvening with Jaina in Xibala, in
Lo Scettro Abissale
. The plan is to steal back the relic that was stolen from Boralus during the
Horde's strike on Boralus, on their 8.0 War Campaign
. On
Assalto alla Tesoreria
, Jaina and Magister Umbric go over their plan.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: The treasury is well protected, but Magister Umbric and I have a way to get the team inside without setting off any alarms.
Magister Umbric says: We can call upon the Void to conceal the magic Lady Jaina will use to open the portal. We believe we have eliminated any potential... side effects.
Flynn Fairwind says: By "side effects", do you mean the shadowy tentacles or the descent into madness? Asking for a friend.
Master Mathias Shaw says: This is a serious mission. Fairwind.
Flynn Fairwind says: I am being serious. Have you met my friends? Madness might be an improvement. And the tentacles, in some cases.
Flynn Fairwind says: Say, are we allowed to make any additional withdrawals from the treasury?
Master Mathias Shaw says: Captain Fairwind--
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: Magister, I think we're ready to get underway.
Magister Umbric says: Give me a moment to shroud our actions from their wards... I have it.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: It will take a moment to find the path through... Ah, there it is. Good luck!
We then embark on a scenario with Shaw and Flynn, where we traverse the Treasury Room in Dazar'alor to find the Abyssal Scepter.
Master Mathias Shaw says: We proceed quickly and quietly. Emphasis on quietly.
Flynn Fairwind: You won't even know I'm here.
Master Mathias Shaw says: And we don't. Touch. Anything. Do you understand, Captain?
Flynn Fairwind says: You're coming in loud and clear, mate. How about- Wait...
Flynn Fairwind says: Did... Did that golem just move?
Master Mathias Shaw says: I think you might be right, Captain. <player>, we should check it out.
Flynn Fairwind says: Yep! Definitely moving!
Master Mathias Shaw says: Take it down!
After defeating the golem guardian
Flynn Fairwind says: So much for quietly.
Master Mathias Shaw says: This area is secure... for now. We should move quickly.
Flynn Fairwind says: Well, this is going to be an exciting trip.
Flynn Fairwind says: Look at this obviously safe room. We should just run right in!
After discovering the traps
Master Mathias Shaw says: There is lightning on the floor and fire in the hallway after this, Fairwind.
Flynn Fairwind says: Sarcasm? What's that?
Master Mathias Shaw says: There's probably a control switch. <player>, can you see one?
Flynn Fairwind says: I hope you're right, mate. I can't see a blasted thing from here.
Master Mathias Shaw says: <player>, see if you can find the control. Captain Flynn and I will watch your back.
After getting through the first step of traps
Flynn Fairwind says: Who the blazes designs this stuff, anyway?
Flynn Fairwind says: Don't get me wrong, they're getting points for style, but isn't this a bit complicated?
Flynn Fairwind says: Imagine having to navigate flaming doom every time you wanted to grab some anchor weed from your deposit box.
Master Mathias Shaw says: Hmm... Two exits from this room.
Flynn Fairwind says: Hang on a second, we should head through this way.
Master Mathias Shaw says: Towards the piles of gold and obvious riches just pouring into the treasury?
Flynn Fairwind says: Well, yeah! If the Scepter is that valuable, it'd be in there, right? Let's go!
Master Mathias Shaw says: STOP!
Flynn Fairwind says: What are you- Oh... That's... not something I expected.
Flynn Fairwind says: Well that's a big problem.
Master Mathias Shaw says: Quit the chatter and help us take it down, Fairwind!
After defeating the second golem guardian
Flynn Fairwind says: Right. The floor is lightning.
Master Mathias Shaw says: Fewer quips, more focus, Captain.
Master Mathias Shaw says: <player>, I think I see another control switch across the way.
Flynn Fairwind says: Lovely! More fire. I guess they're not keeping any flammable valuables in those vaults.
Flynn Fairwind says: Security is starting to get a wee bit serious. Almost as serious as Master Shaw is.
Master Mathias Shaw says: <Sigh> <player>, I wouldn't touch those beams. They're probably deadly.
After getting past the second set of traps
Flynn Fairwind says: I think there are two of those animated statues, but none of those creepy floating masks. At least not yet.
Master Mathias Shaw says: Hold them off while I work.
Flynn Fairwind says: Don't worry, you can count on us!
Flynn Fairwind says: How's it going back there? Almost done?
Master Mathias Shaw says: It's a complicated mechanism. Disabling it requires patience and finesse.
Flynn Fairwind says: Finesse a bit faster!
Flynn Fairwind says: You need any help? Tips? I've disabled a few traps before.
Master Mathias Shaw says: Are a few mystical masks too much for the infamous Flynn Fairwind?
Flynn Fairwind says: While your concern is touching, it'll take more than a few creepy masks and angry stone golems to get the best of me.
Flynn Fairwind says: Come to think of it, an angry stone golem sounds like my last ex.
Master Mathias Shaw says: Can we stay focused? I'm almost done with the last set of traps.
Master Mathias Shaw says: One more... Got it! The last trap is disarmed. Hmm. Passable work, Fairwind.
After the scenario is over and we go back to Xibala, we return to Boralus to report our success on
Sciagura scongiurata
.
The Nazmir Distraction
Our next and final step is to set up a distraction to the Zandalari in Nazmir. We head to Proudmoore Keep to talk about it in
La caduta di Zuldazar
. This plan involves a strike team led by
Maestro di Spade Telaamon
, a Lightforged Draenei we become acquainted with during the Argus storyline back in Legion, going into a suicide route by creating a distraction in Nazmir.
Master Mathias Shaw says: An assault on the city of Dazar'alor will destabilize the Horde's relations with the Zandalari.
Master Mathias Shaw says: Our goal is to draw them north into Nazmir. We'll hit them with guerrilla tactics and rike up the blood trolls.
Genn Greymane says: Myh people will form strike teams to provide support, and High Tinker Mekkatorque's engineers will assemble a few surprises for the Horde.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: The tidesages will use the Abyssal Scepter to conceal our true intentions between a thick layer of mist. Meanwhile, the fleet will invade Dazar'alor from the south.
Master Mathias Shaw says: I won't lie. Not everyone will be coming back from this. We need the Horde to believe the attack is real.
Master Mathias Shaw says: Sacrifices will be unavoidable... but if we are successful, we can bring this whole was to an end in a matter of weeks.
After this, we reconvene in Nazmir in
In marcia verso Nazmir
. Arriving there, we rile up the blood trolls and prepare to signal Dark Iron Mole Machines in
Riadattare il villaggio
and
Macchinazioni dei Ferroscuro
.
After that, the Alliance forces march into Zalamar. It's time to use the Abyssal Scepter to create a thick fog around Nazmir in
Nebbia di guerra
.
We then move to Zul'jan Ruins in
Intrufolarsi nella palude
. Using one of Jaina's Water Elementals, we clear out Zul'jan ruins in
Diluvio a Zul'jan
.
After progressing ahead, we then take over the Fallen Outpost in
Mostrare la nostra potenza
,
Addomesticare le loro bestie
and
Il robot della morte
.
It is time to strike. In
Conquistare la Porta Insanguinata
, we ride one of our tamed battlebeasts into battle and use it to trample over the Zandalari defenses.
With the strike ahead, its time to go back to Boralus while the forces led by Blademaster Telaamon mitigate the Zandalari offensive. In
Colui che cammina nella Luce
, Telaamon talks about his sacrifice.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: Telaamon, thank you again for... everything. This cannot be easy, giving your life so that we may defeat the Horde.
Blademaster Telaamon says: I fought the Burning Legion longer than your known ancestry, Lady Proudmoore. I walk with no fear.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: You have no fear of your own death? The Horde will do terrible things to you, Telaamon.
Blademaster Telaamon says: All of our paths lead back to the Light... some can be more painful than others.
Blademaster Telaamon says: My only regret is that I will not see this war through to its end. You all have the much harder task ahead.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: We will not let you down, Telaamon. Your sacrifice will be remembered.
The Assault on Zuldazar
At this point, we receive two new quests:
Battaglia di Dazar'alor
, where we need to defeat King Rastakhan in the upcoming Battle for Dazar'alor raid. On the PTR, we also have access to the next quest,
Al diradarsi della nebbia
, where we meet King Anduin in Unity Square to talk about how the assault on Dazar'alor went. On the quest
Calcolo delle perdite
, we report the results to Anduin.
Halford Wyrmbane says: My king, the attack on Zuldazar was a resounding success.
Master Mathias Shaw says: The Horde is losing on all fronts. The Alliance should achieve victory in a matter of weeks.
Anduin Wrynn says: Yes, but at what cost? So many fallen... including Mekkatorque, whose life hangs by a thread. And I fear the death of Rastakhan will ignite a fire in the hearts of the Zandalari.
Genn Greymane says: He was a casualty of war, Anduin. A king must be willing to sacrifice himself for his people without doubt or hesitation.
Anduin Wrynn says: I know that, Genn... as well as anyone.
Anduin Wrynn says: But our mission was to drive a wedge between the Zandalari and the Horde. Instead, we may have strengthened their bond.
Halford Wyrmbane says: More than half the Zandalari vessels were destroyed in the initial strike, and the Horde fleet is in disarray. Their remaining ships cannot hope to stand against the Kul Tiran navy.
Genn Greymane says: The Horde has never been more vulnerable. We should strike hard... before Sylvanas hatches another vile scheme.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: Press the attack as the Zandalari mourn their fallen king? That would make us no better than the Banshee.
Master Mathias Shaw says: She's the real problem here. I imagine she is already finding ways to turn this to her advantage.
Anduin Wrynn says: We must continue the fight. But as we push towards victory, we must never lose sight of who we are and what we stand for.
After turning in Dead Reckoning, Anduin and Jaina speak a bit while alone.
Anduin Wrynn says: Jaina, is there anything you can do for Mekkatorque?
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: I'm sorry. The mechanism preserving his body is unlike any magic I have encountered.
Anduin Wrynn says: Our priests feel just as helpless. History will say we won a great victory in Zuldazar. Yet I find little cause for celebration.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: It was a costly battle... in many ways.
Anduin Wrynn says: But enough of that. How are you faring? You held off the Horde's finest warriors so our fleet could withdraw. You risked everything for the Alliance, Jaina.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: Still recovering, but... I'll be fine. You have enough on your mind without worrying about me.
Anduin Wrynn says: It is good to have you back with us, Auntie. I missed you.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: So much transpired while I was away. Anduin... I've heard rumors about an old friend of mine--Calia Menethil. What happened in Arathi?
Anduin Wrynn says: There is much to explain. Some I still don't fully understand... but I'll tell you what I know.
Lady Jaina Proudmoore says: Thank you. Let's find somewhere quiet to talk.
