How Double Legendaries Work in Patch 9.2: Eternity's Endmust be your Covenant Legendary

You obtain a item level 265 Belt after completing Chapter 7 of the 9.2 Campaign;

You can craft the Legendary in the usual way using Memory of Unity up to item level 291. To purchase this, you need to achieve a Revered reputation with the Enlightened.

I have a question, I play a Prot paladin and i have a 265 legendary on my ring slot, So, Let's say I dont want the covenant legendary on my waist and i craft the covenant legendary on wrist slot to 291 then what happens to my main legendary ring which is 265 can i upgrade that to 291 aswell, to put it in short can i equip two legendaries of 291?

let's say you have your already covenant legendary on another piece, when we achieve the chapter 7, can you simply equip another? or it has to be belt/unity.
example:

Have covenant legendary effect on legs --- can i equip a ring with another effect when chapter hits
or
needs to be either belt bought or created unity legendary and then another one i want?

i really don't wanna have to remake another legendary just because it has to be unity/belt that has the covenant one...

The following part: "The ability to use a Unity Legendary in addition to another Legendary is unlocked by finishing Chapter 7 of the Zereth Mortis campaign. This is an account-wide unlock." seems a bit in contraddiction with other information and blue posts I read elsewhere, e.g. https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/92-double-legendary-acquisition/1167080/29
I am confused whether all my alts have to complete the Chapter 7 to puchase their class specific legendary belts or not.

I appreciate any clarification.

The legendary belt you get for free after completing Zereth Mortis campaign is not upgradeable above 265 ilvl, so to compete you have to buy TWO 291 ilvl base items from auction house (one for your choice of legendary, one for the covenant specific legendary which is created with memory of unity).
To do that, I'm assuming you'll need A LOT of gold. People will be buying WoW tokens like crazy. So it's safe to assume:

Bobby needs another yacht.

Once we unlock Memory of Unity and can craft it on to any legendary, can we therefore have two legendary rings - one with Unity and one with our other desired leggo power?

Legendary items currently have a "Unique-Equipped: Shadowlands Crafted" tag so once we unlock the ability to put Unity on another item that we can presumably craft, how will this work?

The Unity waists are not sold by the vendor and you must do the campaign on each character or unlock the memory. Both WoWhead and icy-veins misquote this, and I was displeased to find I either have to wait or do the campaign on alts.

Okay. This went live today and here's what I think is going on.

When you complete chapter 7, you receive a legendary belt like Cinch of Unity. It's i265 and it has your covenant effect on it. It's marked as "Unique-Equipped: Enlightened Legendary (1)". This means you can immediately equip it with any other legendary you already own, because that one is marked "Unique-Equipped: Shadowlands Crafted Legendary (1)". This is the cheapest way of wearing two legendaries.

If you don't want to use the belt or you want a higher level item, you can purchase Memory of Unity from the Enlightened quartermaster and craft a new legendary using it. It could be any piece of gear and any ilevel, but it will only have your covenant effect. You can wear your previous legendary with this because presumably the new one will be an Enlightened Legendary like the belt.

I don't see any way of wearing two arbitrary legendaries.

If you're like me, you already crafted an i291 covenant legendary so now you have two legendaries with the same effect. Bleah.

I present Starting Over Storyline part of Secrets of the First Ones. This Story line have 16 Quests.

Quest Name:	Start and description
1 A Monumental Discovery	Fly To Firim inside cave 35 45.
2 Restoration Project	Speak with Saezurah will be a conversation.
3 Help From Beyond	Speak with Firim ( 3rd option ), Summon pocopoc and press on Kbato inside cave 34 49. Now fly and speak with NPC: 1st - 47 80 Nadjia the Mistblade, 2nd 47 58 Droman Aliothe, 3rd 53 48 Secutor Mevix then fly to 57 31.
4a Keys To Victory	Free 6 Automa Scryer they are in cages. To open kill mobs around to drop 6 Dominator's Key.
4b A Matter Of Motivation	Return 6 Motivated Automa. You can find them around map, press on 6 of them then retur them to point 56 29.
4c Cleaving A Path	Slay 2 mobs: Oracle Voraxxi 59 32 ( is outsid over bulding on platform, not inside bulding xD ) and Oracle Zoketh 57 23. If nobs are not ther just wait for respawn.
7 Knocking On Death's Door	Jump on Kbato, Then kill mobs using skills until 100% ( use skill 2 good aoe no cast time and short cd and skill 3 use to move faster - not only heal ). When done 100% move to 2 Shadow Bulwark 65 23 and 64 21 and use skill 4 on it. Then Get inside bulding.
8 The Infinite Circle	Move inside bulding 53 45.
9a Unforgivable Intrusion	Slay 6 Dominated Automa and 3 Darkseer Corrupter all inside bulding.
9b The Order Of Things	Press on 6 stone orbs. /way 31 49 /way 47 20 /way 39 18 /way 67 29 /way 57 84 /way 64 78
11 As Foretold	Speak with Firim 36 76.
12 Acquaintances Forgotten	Speak with Saezurah then press on Vessel then kill Echo of Argus ( Insta kill Soul Conduit )
13 The Turning Point	Press on Vessel on middle then press on 3 bodies Automa Scryer around platform.
14 For Every Soul	Speak with Pelagos Cinematic will start ( Is that Naruto xD?) .
15 Lifetimes To Consider	Go back to Firim cave, Use teleport ( thank You blizz that you stop use to fly to much )
16 Souls Entwined	Speak with Tal-Inara in Oribos ( this time You need to fly TY Blizz to not let us to be to lazy xD ). Cinematic will start after that You WIll Unlock Double Legendary. Legendary depending on the class: Girdle of Unity, Cinch of Unity, Clasp of Unity, Girdle of Unity, Cord of Unity, Cinch of Unity, Girdle of Unity, Cord of Unity, Cinch of Unity, Clasp of Unity, Cord of Unity, Girdle of Unity. As well when You finish this quest you will reach Secrets of the First Ones
17 Safe Haven	This Quest have nothing to questchain to finish double Legendary or achi. But maby will efect in future then better to do xD. Report back to Bolvar in Haven.

Please tell me the point of this new "Legendary" with the covenant power on it? We already have access and use of the covenant power by clicking it. What does this new "Double legendary" do when you already have you covenant power?

Memory of Unity is everyone's second legendary power

The Unity Runecrafting Power can be equipped alongside another Shadowlands legendary, but you cannot pick both legendary powers. One of the legendary powers must always be Unity.

The exception
If your original single legendary is the covenant legendary for your class, it's now your Unity legendary. Now, when you upgrade it using the Memory of Unity, you can choose any slot except trinket. Better still, you get to pick another legendary (open to all covenants) as your second legendary.

The tooltip for Memory of Unity says, "Gain a legendary effect of your chosen Covenant".
That means you gain a legendary power that only members of your Covenant can use. The legendary covenant power is different for each class. Once the Runecarver applies the Memory of Unity to a new base item, the piece of armor, ring or neck takes the name of the legendary for your class. (It won't be called "Unity".) The icon also changes - it will no longer be the 4 globes representing the covenant colors.

Slots: Head, Neck, Shoulder, Chest, Waist, Legs, Feet, Wrist, Hands, Finger, Back.

Sold by: Vilo, the Enlightened Quartermaster in Haven to those who are Revered with the The Enlightened. The cost is 500 Cosmic Flux. Buy this only once because Memory of Unity is account-wide and is automatically deposited with the Runecarver for all your alts. Vilo also sells Bag of Explored Souls for 3000 Cosmic Flux for those who have reached Honored status. It contains enough Soul Cinders and Soul Ash to craft your legendary.

What else do I need to bring to the Runecarver?
A base item with ilevel 291 and two different missives. These can be bought at the Auction House or from Crafters. Since the Waist of Unity your character receives for completing the Zereth Mortis storyline has an ilevel of 265, you'll want to apply the Memory of Unity to a base item with ilevel 291 (Rank 7). A Rank 6 crafted piece is ilevel 262 which is lower than the Unity waist.
