Mike Morhaime's Dreamhaven
has
announced a partnership
with Lightforge Games, One More Game, and Raid Base. Although there aren't many details on the exact nature of these partnerships, Dreamhaven was created as a development and publishing company overseeing its own sub-studios, so it stands to reason they would be serving as a publishing partner for other small studios as well, creating a larger footprint within the games industry. While all of the studios are new and have yet to officially announce any of their projects, they are all staffed by industry veterans, including many from Blizzard Entertainment.
One of the best parts of working in the video game industry is the meaningful friendships and connections we’ve made with fellow creators and players over the years. We want Dreamhaven to be a force for good, and we think there’s an opportunity to forge worthwhile relationships with creators and share our collective knowledge and experience with teams that have similar visions and values.
We’re establishing a small number of partnerships with external studios that are trying to innovate and create great games. We’re always looking to build new relationships, and by sharing our best practices and guidance, we hope to help these independent studios bring their dreams to life.
Formed by Blizzard Entertainment co-founder Mike Morhaime,
Dreamhaven
is a games development and publishing company with two substudios, Moonshot Games and Secret Door. Although no projects have been announced, it is said that Moonshot will be focused on large projects, while Secret Door will work on more intimate ones.
Lightforge Games
is the newest of the three studios, an all-remote working studio based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Not having released any details yet, their game is intended to be highly social and creative, running across multiple platforms. The 11 person studio is made up of Blizzard and Epic Games alumni, including
art director Glenn Rane
.
One More Game
is a Seattle-based startup formed in 2019 to make online games. Nothing has been announced, although an
interview with Gamesbeat
described their focus on "delightful games" that exceed expectations and fast iterations to make them better based on feedback, promoting a new methodology called
Alpha-Driven Development
.
Raid Base
is another fairly new studio, established to begin a more intimate dialogue with their players, including leaders and experts from Riot Games, Valve Software, Blizzard Entertainment, Microsoft, and Bungie. Similarly working on an unannounced project, stated to be an original open-world IP, PvPvE sandbox game.
