Will there be playable Zandalari Paladins?
There is a sect of Zandalari who are Paladins, but (Spoilers!) something happens to cause them to lose their powers. We'll have to see when Zandalari are released.
How tall are Zandalari? Will they be Tauren Height?
They recently made the Zandalari taller, so that when a regular troll stands up straight, they should be about the same height.
Will Allied Races always be in Pairs?
Right now, very likely. In the long run maybe, but they'll aim for a faction balance in the short term.
What Allied Races are planned for BFA?
Dark Iron Dwarf, Mag'har (Uncorrupted Brown) Orc, Kul'Tiran, Zandalari
Will current Allied Races receive more customization?
They have already sent more feedback to the art team.
Any plans on adding new customization options to the non-allied races?
They have to prioritize and most of the character team is currently working on the Allied Races.
At Blizzcon, it was mentioned that the character creation will be receiving an update. Any update?
It's something that they want to do, but it's not one of the core features of Battle for Azeroth.
Are the old races getting Heritage Armor?
No immediate plans, but something cool. Allied races aren't supposed to be cooler than the original races.
How could players communicate their suggestions to the Dev team?
Snapchat. Not really. Rational feedback is always better than charged emotional feedback. Logs are helpful along with specificity. "When are you going to fix Ret" isn't helpful and specify which parts you don't like. Leave your personal feedback, don't try to convince them that "everyone" hates something.
As for platform, Twitter is good for short things, while the forum is great for longer posts of feedback.
When and how much will classes be unpruned?
With some
class raid buffs
returning, they don't see it as unpruning, but in the class blog released before the BFA alpha, they want to have class fantasy, but also have some class differentiation. Some are already present, and some need to be added.
Since MoP, I feel like I've been losing baseline abilities. Why is this the design direction?
Back then, they would have to sit down and think what 3 new abilities does this class does. "Oh, let's give this low mobility class a mobility ability." Doing this a lot, this feels like it leads to the class same-ness.
Instead of abilities, they want to modify your class through external sources -- In Legion this was the legendaries and Artifact abilities and traits, to Azerite armor in BFA.
Are you balancing class and specs on raiding or Mythic+?
Both sides are definitely considered, so somewhere in the middle. They're not going to balance for a single target 5 minute fight, there are strengths and weaknesses across all these profiles.
Can we expect a higher value of Primary stats compared to Secondary stats?
It wasn't a main goal in Legion. In Legion, the secondary stats started off higher, but scaled slower throughout the expansion but that made secondary stats very important compared to item level.
They want item level to be more important in BFA. If there's a 10 item level gain on a piece with your worst stats, versus your current piece which is your best stats, you might need to make a decision.
Do you think it feels bad for previous Artifact talents and traits to be a talent?
It feels bad. You've had something for a year and a half, it's going to feel bad in the short term when you lose it. But they're doing it for long term design elegance..
How will Legion Legendary talents interact with Legion Legendaries in the pre-patch?
They will likely just stack. Two individual changes to proc or a very very hard hitting hard cast pyro.
What type of weapons will our Artifacts be replaced with?
You'll still have your Artifact weapon and your relics, but all the traits will be burned out and disabled. You'll still use the weapon for some time before you replace it with some green.
Why are some talent rows AoE or single target on the BFA Alpha?
There's something cool about picking a number of utility options. A lot of what they found through Legion is that the choice between AoE or ST on a talent choice feels bad when you're specced wrong or mandatory but uninteresting.
Are there plans to address the CC in PvP besides their duration?
It's a fine line. With too little CC, it just becomes a DPS race but it also shouldn't feel like you should take your hands of the keyboard because you're locked down the entire time. If you feel that a certain set of classes can lock you down for a long period of time, that's feedback that they would be looking for. Rogue and Mage is a classic example of a high CC comp that does take a lot of skill.
Any more details on Prestige?
The rewards for Prestige will still be attainable and they still want to have anyone who attained the rewards to have the Prestige of owning them. Don't panic if you don't get them by the end of Legion!
Can RP realms can have world defense back?
They love the concept of bringing back a concept like this. They'd like to find a way to have something like this.
Will personal loot be the only option for current-level raids?
It's a reasonable expectation. There's a higher total loot count on personal, and the reason that people currently doing Master Loot is for tier sets which don't exist in BFA.
What is the general role of the mission system in BFA? Are there any notable changes from Legion?
They're more tied to the War Campaign. They're going to back away from using them as a time gate but are happy with where they ended up.
What are you doing with Mythic+ in BFA?
Tyrannical and Fortified are planned to be moved to level 2 affixes. At level 10, it created a large breakpoint. It also opens a level 10 affix slot that they're looking at a new category called kiss/curse where you get a benefit and a detriment.
What is happening to crafting?
It always felt awkward to go all to way all the way up to 700 points, so they're now breaking it into a set of different buckets. Say, you get base blacksmithing, and you can get Northrend Blacksmithing, or Outland Blacksmithing or Kul Tiran Blacksmithing.
Will crafted gear on par with raid gear? Raid specific mats?
They want crafting gear to be relevant, they're tried things in the past. Upgrading gear via Obliterum which worked out ok. On the topic of BoE crafting pieces, If anyone in the raid can get it, then it doesn't feel super special for the Blacksmith. There's a cool fantasy of taking the scales from a dragon and making a cloak but it's about making it feel right for the game now.
How will BFA look for Alts?
It depends what you're looking for on your alts. if you're looking for varied content, then they're done a good job through leveling choices and other thigns. If you're looking for a 17th alt to farm the Horseman mount, then maybe less so.
Artifact Knowledge was terrible for alts originally. The Azerite catch up system in BFA will work similar to the Artifact Knowledge system on live currently.
Upcoming social features will make guilds less rewarding. Are there concerns?
Communities are supposed to be a smaller lighter group where a Saturday pug can schedule calendar invites and chat with people who normally come.
What can we expect with the leveling experience being entirely unique between two factions instead of 12 classes?
What is cool about the Battle for Azeroth leveling experience is when you reach 120, the world now doubles in size due to having access to the other faction's continent. Some dungeons are available as leveling for one faction while max level for the other.
