Shadowlands Covenants OverviewNight Fae Covenant Overview
WARNING: SHADOWLANDS STORY SPOILERS AHEAD!
After pledging yourself to the Night Fae and learning the ability
Forme d’âme
, you will be offered the quest
Le clou du spectacle
, where you will be asked to uphold one of the many traditions of Ardenweald: Participating in a play! Lady Moonberry will then peer into your dreams in
Sous les feux de la rampe
and learn about your history. You're then sent to the Star Lake theater, where an eager audience is awaiting for your play to begin!
Our play is divided into two parts: Legion and Battle for Azeroth expansions.
Act 1: Legion
In
Une représentation spectaculaire
, we reenact all the main events that happened in Legion, starting with an introduction to the Legion itself.
Featherlight: Places, everyone!
Lady Moonberry: For the third time, the Burning Legion descended upon Azeroth.
Ysera looks concerned.
Droman Aliothe: DEATH TO THE LEGION!!!
Audience Member: BOO! BOOOO!
Lady Moonberry: But hope yet remained! Behold! <player>!
Audience Member: Woohoo! Yay!!
Choofa: Hey! I know them! Hi, <player>!!!
Part 1: The Emerald Nightmare
We first relive the encounter with Xavius, the final boss of the Emerald Nightmare.
Niya, As Xavius: I am Xavius...
Niya, As Xavius: Line?
Lady Moonberry: Lord of Nightmares!
Niya, As Xavius: Xavius! Lord of Nightmares! Die!
Lady Moonberry: Azeroth's champions confronted Xavius deep within the Emerald Dream!
Audience Member: Who are the Legion?
Audience Member: Remember when that entire world died? That was the Legion.
Lady Moonberry: And so, the Nightmare was brought to an end!
Audience Member: Fight! Fight! Fight!
Ysera looks well pleased.
Ysera: It gladdens me to know the Dream is safe.
Audience Member: Woohoo!
Audience Member: Yeah! Beat that weird looking Sylvar!
Part 2: The Nighthold
In the Night Fae's version, Illidan was the one that took the final blow on the warlock. I guess we were... not ready?
Lady Moonberry: Once Xavius fell, <player> took up arms against the evil warlock, Gul'dan!
Audience Member: Boooo!
Lady Moonberry: But it wasn't their Gul'dan. This one came from the past... and another world... in an alternate timeline!
Lady Moonberry: I... think that's how it went...
Audience Member: Wait... What?
Audience Member: How does that work?
Lady Moonberry: They fought valiantly, but someone else landed the killing blow!
Windy, as Illidan: HA! You were not... ready!
Audience Member: Well, that was rude.
Part 3: The Tomb of Sargeras
This time, we relive the fight against Kil'Jaeden in the Tomb of Sargeras, this time with 100% more clarity. Droman Aliothe, one of the groven wardens of Ardenweald that had his world destroyed by the Legion, is very ecstatic about this.
Lady Moonberry: Enraged by Gul'dan's failure, Kil'jaeden the Deceiver himself sought to destroy the Legion's foes!
Ysera gasps!
Glimmerdust, as Kil'jaeden: Death rains upon you!
Droman Aliothe: KILL HIM, <PLAYER>!
Droman Aliothe: DESTROY HIM!
Glimmerdust, as Kil'jaeden: Fall, hero!
Lady Moonberry: No! The defenders of Azeroth won this fight!
Glimmerdust, as Kil'jaeden: Oh! Right!
Glimmerdust, as Kil'jaeden: I never believed... that Sargeras could be stopped. Perhaps... you will prove me wrong.
Finale: Antorus, the Burning Throne
In the last act of Legion, we revive our fight against Argus the Unmaker in Antorus, including special participation by Lady Moonberry as Eonar! After this part is done, the denizens of Ardenweald argue about how big world souls would have to be to live there.
Lady Moonberry: Taking the fight to the Legion, Azeroth's champions battled the corrupted world-soul of Argus itself!
Ysera looks stunned.
Mi'kai, as Argus the Unmaker: Death! Death and pain!
Mi'kai, as Argus the Unmaker: END IT ALL!
Lady Moonberry: Hope is not lost! The spark of life still flickers within these mortals. Arise, champions! Fight to save this world!
Mi'kai, as Argus the Unmaker: My torment.. ends...
Lady Moonberry: And so, the Champions of Azeroth repelled the Burning Legion, ended their crusade, and saved all worlds!
Ysera cheers.
Droman Aliothe: AND GOOD RIDDANCE!
Audience Member: Woo! Way to go!
Awool: Wait... Worlds have souls?
Choofa: Apparently! I haven't seen any around here.
Choofa: At least I don't think so. Wouldn't they be... BIG?
Slanknen: Perhaps such beings slumber in our groves?
Act 2: Battle for Azeroth
We now start with the Act 2, including the events of Battle for Azeroth.
Prologue: The Sword in the Sands
We're first requested to help set the props on the stage in
Suspension d’incrédulité, acte quatre
, which includes us carrying a planet prop to represent Azeroth and a Darnassus banner to represent Teldrassil. After this, we have a costume change of our own to look like Sargeras, and plunge the sword in Azeroth!
Lady Moonberry: But as the titans were imprisoning Sargeras, he plunged his sword into the Heart of Azeroth!
Lady Moonberry: Fortunately, he didn't hit any major population centers.
Featherlight: Next costume!
Ysera: This cannot be...
Awool: Wait, so there's a giant sword stuck in <player>'s world? How does that work?
Choofa: It kinda goes in like "Shunk"?
Slanknen: I was an environmental protector in life! You can't just stab a planet without serious repercussions to, well, everything!
Choofa: Good point. How would you even make a sword that big anyway? Transmute another world?
Awool: No idea. I don't think I want to meet this Sargeras guy.
Part 1: The Burning of Teldrassil
We now relive the tragic events of the Burning of Teldrassil, complete with some banner burning. At least we have a real Nathanos costume this time!
Lady Moonberry: Not long after, Sylvanas Windrunner besieged the night elf home of Teldrassil!
Astra, as Sylvanas: Lay siege to the World Tree!
Ysera leans forward.
Mi'kai, as Tyrande: You cannot kill hope!
Astra, as Sylvanas: Can't I? Well then, I'll just kill the tree!
Astra, as Sylvanas: BURN IT!!!
Ysera stares aghast.
Lady Moonberry: And so, Teldrassil was consumed by the flames of war!
Ysera: No... that... that was only a nightmare!
Choofa: Oh no! All those souls!
Slanknen: Indeed, Choofa. This is a terrible tragedy.
Awool: Wait... they aren't here! I'd have noticed a big group like that!
Awool: ... Oh...
Ysera weeps.
Part 2: The Battle for Lordaeron
Our next reenactment is the Battle for Lordaeron, where we become Reverence, Anduin's steed.
Windy, as Anduin: Forward ho, my noble steed!
Lady Moonberry: The boy king of Stormwind assailed the undead city of Lordaeron.
Astra, as Sylvanas: You are a terrible leader, King Wrynn!
Windy, as Anduin: Well, you're a terrible person, Warchief!
Astra, as Sylvanas: How dare you!
Lady Moonberry: But before he could capture Sylvanas, she blighted the land and made her escape!
Lady Moonberry: This made everyone very unhappy.
Part 3: THE WOONZ, CHAMPION! (aka Magni)
Part 3 has us meet with "Magni" and repair the Chamber of Heart. Of course, some mocking about Magni's accent had to happen here.
Lady Moonberry: Then a diamond dwarf reminded everyone about the giant sword!
Niya, as Magni: Ach! Champions! The world is bleedin'! Ye need tae heal her woonz!
Lady Moonberry: As it turned out, Azeroth's blood held incredible power. It erupted from the earth for anyone to claim!
Lady Moonberry: Coveting this aptly-named "Azerite", the Alliance and Horde sounded the horns of war! Again!
Choofa: But they were just in a war!
Ysera sighs in disappointment.
Part 4: Uldir
After this, we start the quest
Dans la peau de son personnage
, where we will perform the final acts of Battle for Azeroth, starting with Uldir - Including G'huun being represented by a unruly gormling.
Featherlight: Another war? That's rough, friend.
Lady Moonberry: And so, the Battle for Azeroth had begun!
Awool: Woo! Yeah! Wait... Which side are we cheering for?
Choofa: I'm not sure. Does it matter?
Lady Moonberry: Deep in the jungles of Nazmir, the Champions of Azeroth vanquished the Blood God, G'huun!
Choofa: Er... Do we get "Blood Gods" or do they go elsewhere?
Slanknen: I do believe everything is going to the Maw, currently.
Senthii, as M.O.T.H.E.R: Old God unit G'huun exterm--Gloober, no!
Lady Moonberry: With G'huun defeated, the Horde and Alliance returned to fighting each other!
Ysera shakes her head.
Part 5: Battle of Dazar'alor
The next part includes the Battle of Dazar'alor, which includes a Jaina that somehow still kept her ghost arcane ship. With the ice blocks and a... slightly overrepresented Jaina, Horde members can say this act is very realistic.
Lady Moonberry: To bring a swift end to the war, the Alliance invaded Dazar'alor and killed King Rastakhan!
Lady Moonberry: The Horde's ships pursued the Alliance fleet, but were blockaded by Lord Admiral Jaina Proudmoore!
Mi'kai, as the Zandalari Captain: Hey, mon! Horde vessels on de horizon, mon! You have nowhere left to run, ice witch mon!
Glimmerdust, as Jaina: You really think I've been running, captain?
Glimmerdust, as Jaina: I lured you into open waters. Because out here, you have no hope of escape!
Glimmerdust, as Jaina: Muwahahahahahaha!
Lady Moonberry: Glimmerdust, Jaina didn't kill her pursuers.
Lady Moonberry: Really, Jaina didn't die, either.
Part 6: The Eternal Palace
For our next act, we need to defeat "Queen Azshara". With the incredible Queen's Decree instructions and an act as vainglorious as the Queen herself, this is also a very realistic representation!
Lady Moonberry: Far under the sea, the Champions of Azeroth fought the imperious Queen Azshara.
Astra, as Azshara: Bow before your queen!
Lady Moonberry: Ahem, moving along...
Astra, as Azshara: Stand still! But keep moving!
Astra, as Azshara: Run right! But go left!
Astra, as Azshara: Bring me more wine! But stay where you are!
Astra, as Azshara: I am far too perfect and beautiful to be defeated!
Astra, as Azshara: You ill-mannered and unfashionable fools will get what's coming to you...
Lady Moonberry: The Vainglorious queen was dethroned... but it was all part of N'Zoth's nefarious plan!
Finale: Ny'alotha, the Sleeping City
The finale for our play includes Ny'alotha, where we fight N'Zoth and a couple of his tentacles. After this, the Winter Queen judges our play, and she likes it! Although some of the audience members are still in disbelief over how much has happened in Azeroth in so little time.
Lady Moonberry: Freed from his prison, the Old God sought to remake the world in his insane image!
Lady Moonberry: And thus, the Corruptor was defeated! <player> had prevailed once more!
The Winter Queen rises from her seat.
The fae await her judgment with breathless anticipation...
Winter Queen: An excellent performance.
Audience Member: WOOOOO!
Audience Member: YAY! YAAAAAAAY! <player>!
Audience Member: YAY!
Audience Member: <player>! <player>! <player>!
Choofa: That was fun!
Droman Aliothe: I liked the part where they beat the Legion.
Awool: I'm still not clear on how that Sargeras guy got a sword that big.
Slanknen: I'm still unclear how their world could possibly still exist with a sword in it.
Choofa: Well I once met someone whose world was a ring, so is it that weird?
Slanknen: ... Really.
Choofa: Yeah! Usually appears as a big cat thing... If they're still here. I haven't seen anyone from that grove in a while.
Choofa: But that's okay. <player> will help us get Ardenweald back on track! I just know it!
Ysera's Opinions
After completing the play and earning the Winter Queen's approval, Ysera, having watched the entire play wants to exchange some words with you in
Pour la reine et le bosquet
. While flying with her, Ysera mentions that she had seen all that happened during Legion and Battle for Azeroth in her nightmares while a wildseed, but didn't believe it all to be true. She also learns of Tyrande becoming the Night Warrior, and vows to help her before it might be too late for the High Priestess of Elune.
After completing this quest, you will officially become part of the Night Fae covenant.
Ysera: I thought it was all a dream. Argus in the sky, the blade in the desert... Teldrassil aflame...
Ysera: All of those souls, lost to the Maw.. and Tyrande...
Ysera: Her rage darkens her heart like a shadow on the moon. Her hunt is endless and unrelenting.
Ysera: But the Night Warrior's power is as much a curse as it is a blessing. It threatens to tear her asunder from within.
Ysera: I could not aid the kaldorei when Teldrassil burned. I pray I can aid Tyrande before it is too late.
