i heard you could get this after you did the quest but i didnt loot him or i didnt get it. sooo can i still get this?

I've killed him 4 times now, never even being in this zone before, and it hasn't dropped for me yet. Any ideas?

7th kill, no device, either the random numbers hate me, or you do need that other quest.

I wanted into this quest line for the Wyrmrest Accord rep. I was new level 72. I read up, saw the need for Strange Device and went to kill Goramosh for the drop. Killed him 11 times! Only cash dropped. Did some more reading. Went to Stars’ Rest and the Image of Archmage Modera. I completed the first available quest to me, “Rifle the Bodies”. I then got the follow up quest from Archmage, “Prevent the Accord”. This second quest was to kill Mu’fah and Goramosh and return with quest drops.

I went and killed Mu’fah again and his quest item dropped (body remains or something, it did NOT drop when I killed him previously on the way to Goramosh). I kill Goramosh and his quest item dropped (Scales) AND the Strange Device dropped as well, 1st time.

Opening the item and starting the quest required return to the image. Completing the Strange Device quest at the image then offered the next quest, Projections and Plans, starting the chain leading to “Gaining An Audience” for Wyrmrest Accord rep.

You should still have the device or will be given it again to use as a "teleporter" in Projections and Plans. You must go to anywhere in Moonrest Gardens and activate the device to teleport to the top of a spire, kill a few mobs then Hearthstone back to Stars' Rest or wherever and then get back to Stars' Rest to complete the quest.

Clicking Strange Device then started the next quest and required returning to the image of the archmage in Stars' Rest. Actually, i'm sure i DID NOT loot Goramosh, but i had the device in my bag. I think it drops directly into inventory after kill.

Killed him a dozen times and this didn't drop; followed the advice from the first comment and did the quests that led to this one http://wotlk.cuckhead.com/?quest=12004 and it dropped. So if you can't get it to drop, try grabbing this quest and see if that helps.
