They really need transmog essemblies that are much cheaper for these the amount of grinding if you want the transmog sets and weapons is nuts, 70k for the mounts and pets is bad enough

Good thing that they are adding trash rewards so i dont have to grind as much this Pre-Patch. Only thing worth grinding for is the Heirloom ring others are just reskins of Onyxian Whelpling/ Spawn of Onyxia which is 15 years old, Gryphon&Wind Rider and Gnoll are 20 years old models..

I came here to see if it was worth resubbing for the pre-patch or not, but these rewards... I'll just save myself a few bucks and wait for launch.

So just transmog armor, mounts and pets alone would cost you 202.000 currency, if you did all bosses and weekly quest you'd get a total of 318.500 currency (that would require you to almost play 24/7 for 3 weeks). I know gear might drop from the event, but RNG.

Still an insane amount of gained vs cost of things. If you have several characters you want to gear? You might just as well forget about it.

I hope the numbers change, because there's also weapons. How many? Who knows. Could be 10, could be more. Inflating the amount of currency needed even more. Could be closer to 300k needed to buy every transmog/mount/pet.

What level is the gear that you get from this? The pre-patch overview section says Champion (489) and the event rewards section says Veteran (480). And can it be thrown into the catalyst? I'm missing some of the tier set transmog at HC level so it would be cool if this gear can be used for that.

The mount/pet rewards all look awful, like unfinished blue blobs. Once again the graphics department has no imagination for cosmetic clothing/gear. This is one event I'll skip as it offers nothing of value, nor does it appear to be a requirement to gain access to the upcoming expansion. An heirloom again? Why? Only good for levelling up more alt grunts for the ever growing alt armies.

What a disappointment. I hope those who do participate enjoy their time though, after all, you are still in Azeroth! :)

Nice to see they put some real thought and effort into the mount rewards...A recolour of a very dated horrible looking mount, inspiring. Almost as bad as the event itself.

If anyone wants a spreadsheet of the items for collection, I made a google spreadsheet list you can make a copy of for the items. Also added in the Recruit gear as well now. (and at least with the gear, if you get it on one faction, it counts for the other faction as well - I.e. if you collect a piece on your Alliance, you learn the same piece of the Horde equivalent and vice versa. A couple of weapons are different though, but (hopefully) I listed everything on the sheet. Good luck farming everyone) :)

Do you only get gear rewards and memories from the bosses (Arthas) once a week? I did the dragonblight and got in just as Arthas was being killed, but didnt have the quest. So I went back the next time in same day, but didn't get any Athas gear or currency a second time (thankfully could complete the quest though!)

Why can this gear not be thrown into the catalyst! It is Veteran/Champion so meets the usual requirement. The only glimmer of relevance for this event was to pick up some gear pieces where I have gaps in my tier set transmogs on various alts. I've been waiting the whole of season 4 for a veteran/champion chestpiece to drop for my shaman to complete the Great Wolf set. I thought, that's ok cause I can use the currency in this event to buy the chest piece and complete the set. But no, this stuff can't be catalysed. Well I suppose that's me done now til late August. Nothing else to do. Thanks Blizz!

Just bought Remembered Wind Rider and logged onto one of my Alliance characters to see, if the Remembered Golden Gryphon was also unlocked and it was.

You just need to buy one mount to unlock the counterpart for Horde/Alliance.

This list doesn't include the Recruits Sturdy sets that can drop for characters less than level 70. There are Recruits sets for cloth, leather, mail, and plate plus weapons that can drop for lower levels.

Okay, so I'm ether crazy or WoWhead is wrong. WoWhead is showing that the Recruit's Sturdy gear uses the same appearance as the gear from the Shadowlands prepatch, but I have been farming the gear, and it's not using that appearance. What it is using though is the Exile's Reach Expeditionary gear. Am I nuts or has anyone else noticed this?

While trying to get the last couple pieces of gear to upgrade for the transmog and gear alts once they hit 70, I found that the gear from the event is no longer Warbound. The items in the Warbank also state Soulbound as of today, the last day of the event. Interesting change Blizzard.
