The World of Warcraft Battle Plan
Blizzard has posted their
Battle Plan
on the official forums, and in it they talk about what we've already seen such as
Naxxramas
, to the Dungeon Finder tool and even dual specs. Then further on down they speak about the whole new
Santuário Rubi
raid encounter which is slated for sometime in the hopefully near future.
After that they look even further into the future and touch on subjects for the upcoming expansion
Cataclysm
like the two new races, the world changing, Operation Gnomeregan & Zalazane’s Fall, and all new hardware upgrades that are planned before the expansion.

Druid Class Changes in Cataclysm!
Edit: More posts at the bottom!
Right on time, Bashiok has posted the Druid changes on the official forums!
In it there are a lot of really interesting changes, such as
being moved out of the talent tree into a new and interesting UI mechanic,
Encarnação: Árvore da Vida
being turned into a cooldown ability similiar to
and feral druids getting an interrupt!
You can read all the changes after the break.

Death Knight Class Changes in Cataclysm!
Edit: Updates and clarifications at the end of the blog!
Zarhym just posted the 5th in the series of Cataclysm Class Previews, and which one does it happen to be? Our ever lovable (or hate-able) Death Knights!
Lots of changes in this one just like the rest, like a change to the current Rune System and the already discussed about change coming to Blood Tanking! What do all the Death Knights out there think of these changes?
You can read the changes soon in our
Cataclysm Guide
or you can view them after the break.

Operation: Gnomeregan Imminent
High Tinker Mekkatorque has made an Azeroth Bulletin stating that
Operation: Gnomeregan
is imminent. He goes on to state in this announcement, "After all, Thermaplugg has eluded death for years to keep his reign over Gnomeregan; and with the fall of the Lich King, the last great threat to the citizens of Azeroth, the chance of any cataclysmic event taking place in the foreseeable future is less than 12.7%."
What does this mean for us? I personally think we will be seeing the retaking of Echo Isles and Gnomeregan in the very near future and hopefully with it will come the release of the new
Santuário Rubi
raid dungeon.
You can read the entire Azeroth Bulletin on the official
World of Warcraft
website.

Cataclysm: Blood is for Tank
Ghostcrawler just dropped a bomb on the
Death Knight
community—It seems Blizzard has aborted their "tri-tank" policy with death knights, and committed to a single "tanking spec" for Death Knights:
Blood.
The tree itself will contain some new abilities similar to
, and some more of the fun tanking talents from Frost and Unholy will be moved to Blood. Some of the more clunky mechanics like
will be changed, or even removed.
Check out the quote after the break to see the reasoning.

Enhancement Shaman Buff
Ghostcrawler has just announced an interesting hotfix planned for Enhancement Shamans:
will be increased from 25% to 30% with the full 5 ranks. Blizzard hopes this will give Enhancement that slight boost needed to keep them even with the rest of the raid.
He also goes on to say that they
do
agree enhancement does have some survivability problems, and while they don't have any changes to deploy right now, it is something they'd like to fix in a future patch.
We agree with some of the recent discussion about Enhancement dps. We are going to hotfix a change to the Flurry talent to increase it from 25% to 30% attack speed with 5 ranks.
We also agree that Enhancement may have survivability problems and understand that players don't necessarily feel they can afford the bonus Stamina from the Toughness talent, at least in PvE. We don't have an immediate change to deploy here, but it's something we'd like to fix and a candidate for future patches.

New Recruit-A-Friend Mount
Meet the
Foguete de Passeio X-53
, a state of the art, two-seater rocket that will automatically change between all different speeds depending on your flight skill. This new mount will be replacing the
Zevra Veloz
mount currently received as part of the
Recruit-A-Friend
program.
The model for this bad-ass new rocket can be seen to the right.
Beginning in just a few days, players who participate in the Recruit-A-Friend program will receive a whole new reward for showing a friend the ropes in Azeroth: the X-53 Touring Rocket, a two-seater flying mount that automatically increases its speed as your mount skill improves (up to 310% speed if you already have a 310% mount). The X-53 will be replacing the current Zhevra mount reward, which is retiring from the Recruit-A-Friend business after a good run. If you've already claimed a Zhevra (or claim one prior to the change), you’ll be able to hang on to it, of course. We’ll have more details on the new Recruit-A-Friend mount once it becomes availabl

Changes to Dispels in Cataclysm
A slew of new information is coming out of Blizzard this week - this time it's about the change to
dispels
coming in
Cataclysm
. As it stands right now there are five different types of buffs and debuffs: curses, diseases, poisons, defensive magic, and offensive magic.
In Cataclysm, Blizzard plans to let all healers dispel three out of the five types of abilities, with one of them always being a defensive dispel. This will allow arena teams to be a little more open and will allow encounter designers to assume you will have a dispel magic. In addition to this the mana cost on all dispels will be significantly increased, this will cause people to "think" before they decide to cast instead of just spamming the button.
One last thing,
,
and
will be removed from the game.
With all this new info coming out we can only hope that an alpha or maybe even the beta may start in the near future. You can read the original post after the break.

Rage Normalization in Cataclysm
In
Cataclysm
, Blizzard is taking the opportunity to fix some of the problems with rage for both warriors and druids. Right now there are quite a few problems with rage—we're rage-starved at lower gear levels, and have next to infinite rage at high gear levels.
To fix this Blizzard plans to
normalize
rage in Cataclysm. We're going to generate a set amount of rage on auto-attack (200% if you crit), rage from being hit will be calculated based on the warriors health, more sources for instant rage will be introduced, all “on next swing” will be removed and
and
will become instant attacks.
With these changes Blizzard hopes to make playing these classes a little more interesting, and hopefully make rage-management more a part of playing the character.

Eyonix Says Goodbye
Today some sad news came across the official forums, as everyone's favorite dragon whelping
Eyonix
has announced he will be leaving Blizzard for other opportunities. Eyonix has been with us for nearly 6 years as a community manager, we frequently have seen him posting important information and getting involved with discussions throughout the forums.
For nearly six years, we've shared our thoughts with one and other, we've laughed, we've argued, and we've cried -- the crying part was just me wasn't it? Those times, I'm afraid must come to an end as I've made the decision to explore opportunities outside of Blizzard.
It has very honestly been a huge pleasure, and I thank you all for allowing 'Eyonix' to always remain a very fond memory as I move on.
Even though I've personally never met the man behind the dragon, he will be sorely missed! Good luck with your future endeavors, Eyonix!

Blizzard Introduces the Story Forum
Blizzard yesterday introduced a new board on the World of Warcraft official forums, aptly named the
Story Forum
. In it players are urged to discuss storylines from throughout the Warcraft universe, including the ones told in game as well as through the novels, manga, comics and short stories that Blizzard publishes.
The most interesting portion about the new Story Forum is Blizzard plans on using it as a way to let users
influence
the stories they will publish. With this Blizzard hopes to give us a direct line to story developers, so they can get specific examples of what we like and don't like to make the story better for us all.

Cryptozoic Takes Over World of Warcraft TCG
A month and a half ago Blizzard
announced
they were parting ways with Upper Deck, and they would in the near future announce some exciting changes coming to the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game.
That announcement has arrived! Blizzard, in partnership with
Cryptozoic Entertainment
will begin its (hopefully) long and fruitful relationship this May, with the release of the Wrathgate expansion set for the TCG.
“Having been fully involved with the development of the World of Warcraft TCG from day one, I've always been passionate about taking it into the future,” said Cory Jones, Cryptozoic’s President and Chief Creative Officer, and formerly Blizzard Entertainment's lead business and development liaison for the TCG. “I'm pleased to say that the players have a lot to look forward to as we continue developing and evolving the game to match the action and spirit of World of Warcraft.”

official website

New Map for the Ruby Sanctum!
Something a little surprising was discovered in the patch files for 3.3.3, a new version of map for
Santuário Rubi
was tucked away neatly inside. On the right you can see the actual map, in the center we are pretty sure is
Halion the Twilight Destroyer
with his 3 lieutenants Baltharus the Warborn, General Zarithrian and Saviana Ragefire surrounding him.

Santuário Obsidiano
reminds me a lot of this new map, and as I love all kinds of dragon related lore this new raid is really exciting me. So, what are your thoughts on this upcoming raid dungeon and all of precursor events that are leading up to
Cataclysm
