Just lost to a Mage. Turn around the game, was winning at the end, 1 or 2 turns away from killing him.10 mana. He drops Chromagus and Novice Engineer. Okay, he saved it for that. He draws a card, duplicated.He plays Azure Drake, twice. Okay... thats lucky. he draws 2 more cards, duplicated.He attacks into my Unstable Ghoul, clearing his own board.He plays Antonidas and 4 Apprentices. 4. All of which he drew this turn. By getting perfect draws from his Engineer. AND his drakes...Just.... wow. How lame can you get? Infinite Fireball combo in 1 turn from having only Antonidas in his hand at the start.
- 2x - 2x - 1x - 25x Get the 5 cards of your 3-cost combo, and win.You don't even have to care about the board, nor about your opponent!
OTK priest is my new life. I can't go back now.
For me some kind of tempo mage worked very well.
My first brawl was against a rogue who pulled off a turn one Dr. Boom, Shadowstep, Dr. Boom. Hard to argue with that sort of opening.Later, I ran into a druid who Alexstrasza'd me right out the gate, but I'd tuned my deck enough by then that I was able to handle him. :-)Edit: This is the deck I was running: I can't take full credit for it; I fought someone (I think his screenname was "Guts") who had a similar build.
Does Joust work? I suppose the minions should be compared by the original cost, when extracted from the deck. The change to (1) occurs when placed in the hand, right?
Yes, jousting works based on the minion's original cost. Of course, your opponents are likely to run a bunch of high-cost minions, so you may or may not get value from it.
i won my first brawl with , that was awesome!
VanCleef and Questing Adventurer are also fun cards to try.I opened a game with Violet Teacher, Backstab, Coin and VanCleef. Three 1/1 and a 7/7 on turn one were enough to make sure the opponent could not recover. Also, Fan of Knives performs really well.
one day later and this weeks Brawl evolved into an OTK-Combo-Fest...Anyway here is mine, inspired by dtakes comment about Kraken and Brann.
++*2=easy OTK for every class
Another tip: I find that turn 1 and work fantastically for this brawl, especially coupled with + other inspire/spell draw cards like or or to keep the opponent's board clear. This brawl seems too dependent on your mulligan tbh. Sure, OTK is fun when you get to execute it, not so much when you get it thrown in your face :X
Something weird just happened. Just not sure if one can cheat or if it was a bug. Not sure why one would cheat if they could.Just got Alex'd, he drops a gold Rag and it dup'd itself. No Faceless. Nothing. Just duped itself. Then he Faceless for three Rags. I double and triple checked. That second Rag had no possible way to be created. My opponent didn't pause or skip a beat. Like he knew it was coming.Only minions on the board when he cast it was his Alex and I had a Juggler and Stampeding Kodo. That first Rag also created a golden Rag. His Faceless created one wasn't golden.
...additionaly, just found out you can't trigger Faceless twice with Brann.
OTK list from Disguised Toast "BEST TAVERN BRAWL EVER!":
I'm a bit late to the chat, but I've found that a good deck to go with is Secret Paladin (modified to this miniaturized deck ) Use a Knife Juggler to decimate most of the opponent's minions, a band of card draw minions to go through your deck, and of course, nice chunk of secrets to hold your opponent at bay, and it's a pretty easy way to play. The fact that you can put out your on turn one definitely doesn't hurt you.
