N0083rP00F and nmb3000 - we've deployed a fix for Google Analytics, the pages should work normally again for you.Manniala - as part of the decision to remove some advertising slots permanently from the site, this meant that other ads had to always stay visible/fixed in the sidebar. Since Broken Isles was so long, there simply wasn't room to have it underneath the sidebar ad, parts would get cut off. We think based on site data that Today in Broken Isles is overall popular among users; we know that not everyone will enjoy all of the content/tools on the site. If Today in Broken Isles isn't for you, hopefully you can view it similar to a news topic you're not that interested in - it takes up less vertical space than before.
@perculiaHmm yeah i see, i just do not see the adds so for me it was not well obvious like that :)What about making it into a expandable headline, where you have the title like now, as default it is as it is now, but by pressing dunno icon or so, it get folded up into a headline alone, and the rest are invisible, this way you still have the whole thing for those that likes it and need the info, and for some of us that do not, well it's still there with 1 click if needed. And if so it have to be expanded at the first time you are at the main page, and from there let the user decide if they want to keep it expanded, and save the state in a cookie.Just made a fast image of how i was imagin it to be (but could also be right under the 4 images that are on the front page atm)http://i.imgur.com/MnuYLaw.png -- EDIT sorry had to remake the image, was not equal black space, and i deleted the image before reupping a new, just incase some got error in those mins. (weird guy i know, part of the curse i live, perfectionist thingy/OCD... :()And while i have you :)The bar you have a the top "ZAM ---- Account name -- Feedback -- English" make it stay on screen after you scroll down, i often have to get into my account settings... chars and so on, just an idea :)Again a link for better illustrating what i am talking about (yeah well my english is not that great, and i often feel i over explain stuff, i'm more a visual guy)https://ecommerce.shopify.com/c/ecommerce-design/t/how-to-make-nav-bar-stay-on-screen-while-scrolling-271029Keep up the damn great job you guys do!
Lurve the changes! Thanks Wowhead!
I like the new layout with "today in Legion" in the news part :)
I prefer Today on the Broken Isles and the discount code in your sidebar. Quick and easy to find in a standard location. Now its lost among the news and the sidebar is mostly empty and ugly.
The sidebar was terrible when browsing on a phone or ipad. it is so much better now
New layout caught me off guard, but it does flow better with right side bar gone now.
I really liked having the today in broken isles on the right hand side.
Could you maybe give an option to Patrons to amend the main page to include Today In Broken Isles on sidebar as it was previously? I liked the format there and would quite often leave that area visible down the side of my wow window.
I dont like the new "today in broken isles" the sidebar was so much better. The new site looks like a website from 2000very old and not useful
Holy crap this removed that annoyingly long sidebar on database entries that pushed a lot of stuff like comments into a more cramped space. I immediately approve of this, though I wish there was a way to deal with "bad ads" better (wishful thinking on my part).Front page looks a bit cleaner too, though still looks like it could cause browser lag.Edit: Also, that "Today in the Broken Isles" looks like it could be better (and more helpful for those who need it) at the top, either right below or above the guides. A hide option would be nice too.
Didn't see this dedicated post about the site, so I'm repeating myself from another post. Can you just add an RSS feed of the news page of the site? I'm not signing up for yet another closed service just to receive notifications. Browsing the site manually is preferable to that. And ZAM's master RSS feed is a no-go.
Does this RSS Feed work for you? We're not telling people to use one service over another, some users subscribe to places like Facebook and Twitter to get news updates, and there's a dedicated Discord community for WoW so we'd like to help those players as well.
The layout is worse than it was before. Not to mention the ads were no problem if you had adblock (which everyone does). Between this update and the flaming train-wreck that is Hearthhead this whole family of sites is circling the drain.
For those that are interested in figuring out how to edit which channel you want it to go to after adding the webhook to your server, all you do is this: 1. At the top left hand corner you click the drop down menu and go to server settings. 2. Click on webhooks3. Click Edit on the Wowhead News4. Now you can select any channel you want it on, without having to come over to Wowhead.com. 5. You can also delete it if you no longer want it by clicking on the trash can symbol, left of the cancel button. Hope it helps! - Korn
