If anyone thinks this is redemption, you are basically illiterate.
"Genocide VERY good" - Blizzard
Baine saying "maybe she shouldn't (wake)" and nothing else was actually pretty funny.
Well, with this, it appears we can officially acknowledge that we've permanently lost our Dark Lady, one way or another. What an absolutely tragedy.
As a macro character study of the most divisive character in wow it is spot on, and people shrieking and wailing that the lore is being butchered can't tell the difference between getting what they think they want, and getting some good video game writing. Calm down, you probably couldn't write a high school essay about your summer holidays guys. Also there I more to come, we don't know what the final outcome will be for Sylvanas or the story leading on to the next expansion
Just gonna say even if they kill her this expan to shut us up doesn't mean they won't bring her back.....this to me cements that they gonna redeem her and just bring her back another time. SL is prove that just cause a character is dead doesn't mean they won't come back. Danuser truly one of the worst writers i have encountered and WoW story telling wasn't even good to start with......let that simmer. Just when i thought the story can't possibly get any worse Danuser shows up.
How they butchered our favorite emo girl
She says "I must face the consequences" and then she opens her eyes as the pre-banshee Sylvanas. From how I see it she's taking responsibility for her actions even as a banshee. Okay, whatever she says after waking up is key as to how to interpret. But from story telling point of view if a character "must face the consequences (for their actions)" that's not redemption. That's accountability. That's judging them. They're obviously aware they have to prove their worth in terms of what knowledge they have. The person also knows that they may never gain the trust of the people around them. Not even of the people who had meant the most to them: Forsaken or Blood Elves - each has a reason not to want her back. The Forsaken saw their trust and loyalty in their leader paid in blood and despair in Arathi. The Blood Elves became known by this name because of what happened during the battle that made her a banshee and then caused her to turn against her own people. They have much to ask from her before they may trust her again... if ever. There are so many events tied to her becoming a banshee and she's directly responsible for one person's death at least (outside Orgrimmar).Perhaps, after years of helping to fix what she helped to break she may gain a few voices of trust and forgiveness. Only then she can begin to win a right to redemption...I think we should find Sylvanas somewhere along singing the Lament of the Highborne after she's spoken about Zovaal. Interestingly, it's this song I've always associated with Sylvanas's sorrow over the events when she became a banshee, and this might be the best way to present to us that she's acknowledging the consequences of her actions. She ends the song with repeating "... I must face the consequences of my actions. Fix what was broken..."
which npc forgave her? i dont see any
