I think your analysis of missed a very important use for the card - insurance against board wipes. I usually play a control-ish Paladin as my main deck, and I've found Eggs work quite well for protecting my board presence against indiscriminate AoE. Having an egg down punishes classes that would usually counter mine, Mages using Blizzard or Flamestrike, Rogues using Blade Flurry, etc. It also combos fantastically with a Pyromancer/Equality board wipe, leaving them with nothing and me with a 4/4 ready for action. And, at worst, the card is an absolute magnet for Silences, which means there's one less Silence to hit my Tirion or Ysera. Good deal for only 2 mana.Next week I fully assume and will be teched into nearly every deck for their anti-zoo, anti-Miracle/Freeze value. The meta is going to shift - hard - next week, probably to ramp-style druids abusing combined with .
I have made a nice play with Force of Nature, Poison Seed and a Violet Teacher. Even without the Teacher, it's a nice way to keep the Force's Treants after the've attacked.
I agree that is kind of awkward, but I did see a nice play with it. I faced a druid that dropped double s and on their next turn used giving them 2 4/4s and 2 2/2s. I thought it was a pretty cool play, but it only worked because I was drawing absolute crap and had no way to deal with the eggs in my hand.
I've been running in constructed Pally and love the results. and even have been beneficial, as well as and . What's even better is if you can get the egg to die while you still have sword charges, leaving you with a 5/5 afterwards.
