I disagree with some of this. The travel time is really minimal and getting random dungeons keeps things from getting stale. I think people are getting too much into the 'max efficiency above all else' mindset. The xp curve capping very low and the loot quality seem like the biggest issues
I think things could be improved here and there but I am absolutely mystified by the "rush to 100" mentality. Maybe for speedrunners and folks who find that alone entertaining, sure, but people are doing it like this is WoW and they expect to be able to raid or something once they get to max level. The point of the nightmares isn't to "give you the best XP" it's to challenge yourself for progressively better rewards and to see how far you and/or your friends can make it up the ladder (again, the rewards part could probably be tweaked, bur I don't think the point of them is "make getting to 100 fast and easy"). I was similar mystified by the clash about "what world tier to level in" became a thing after the betas. Like... the point of WT2 is the challenge, not "omg most efficient leveling possible". Who cares? What are you in such a rush for?
you act like this is some crazy thing that no one could have foreseen. It's literally a gated #$%^fest that bliz has copied from asian dev'ed games and think that because of their recent success, they should do it too. So many tried lost ark etc, but I'd submit that was because of the content drought. D4 has more problems then this exp prob.- over 200 affixs. Getting that gg item with this is just ludicrous. - The forced content. Helltide's do not need to exist, at all just so you can get items to reroll. It's the !@#$tiest system. You want paragon but you need to make your gear better to get that exp for more paragon. Oh wait but you can only do that from some rare as $%^& &*!@ mats from boring as hell content. WOOT FOR US!- the wasted time traveling. It's by design. Everything game devs do has a "time usage" calculation. Us wandering around all of the time helps boost that which means more time in game, and less time they have to spend making content.- Dynamic content? I mean what's so dynamic? It's mythic plus's on crack. It has affixs which totally disrupt the fluidity of the game but it';s all the same, over and over and over. Why did certain dungeons get farmed so much? BECAUSE it's all the same, everytime.- The gear ladder is nuts. I can't wait to hit 100 so I can stop getting gear that's well beneath me and get the best gear. Oh wait we still get gear thats level's below us the whole way to 100. This is fun.
D3 rifts were so much better because you actually got a lot of loot from it and with the amount of rolls you can get, it was the only way to actually make it rewarding.
Yeah but I'm a father with 12 children, 3 wives and I work 7 jobs. I have 13 minutes a week to play and I am just now getting to Kyovoshad at level 7. I'm having fun! All of your complaints are invalid because you play the game more than I do. How can you even be at the point where you're COMPLAINING about nightmare dungeons? Touch grass, or something.
Deleted.
Ah, another Blizzard game where deterministic loot is needed. It's almost like there's a lesson to be learnt here.
Is it just me or is the 'Magic Find' bonus affix doing the opposite of what it says it does? I don't have statistical data to prove this, but from a 'feeling,' I seem to get fewer drops (Rare+) vs a non-magic find NM dungeon. When I run a non-magic find I end up TPing back to town at least once per run to get rid of all the gear in my bags vs a magic-find dungeon where I end the run with maybe a bit over half my inventory full. Am I just unlucky?
I think it is a failure both as gameplay and as playing mindset that activity X vs activity Y are only compared in terms of what rewards, what ilvl, what xp/hour or whatnot they offer instead of how fun and interesting they would be...
Saying that glyphs leveling is not an incentive compare to paragon xp is absolutely insane and stupid lmao.Glyphs give massive power boost at higher level the difference between level 1 and 20 is really huge it's by far the priority target in endgame imho. This "article" is full of bs honestly. Sure it's weird that normal dungeons scale to so high level but they definetely give way less legendaries/uniques there's a stark difference.
ok.. i level only with nm dungeons and didnt thought it is bad. the 30 sec moving to another dungeon is not so bad. really dont complain about such stuff. far more annoying is the small bag without a chance to improve the size. but i know now, that only +3 lvl are enough due to bonus xp? i fight with mobs 7/8 lvl up to me. probably its inefficient. but otherwise all dies to fast and it makes no fun..
Kudos to Blizzard for wanting to be more involved in discussing improvements to the game with the community, but, this feels really...whack.Like Blizzard wants to build hype with us that their game wasn't really tested enough, and needs a lot fixed/revamped, so, they host these "campfire chats" for us to feel stoked that they want to talk to the community about how they didn't think through their game enough and want our feedback to fix it.I'd be more excited for these campfire chats they want to host if the game felt fleshed out, and didn't have these constant nerf waves and major changes to the game/classes because it wasn't tested enough before release.
PoE maps with zero depth
Meh it is rested xp vs. xp exhaustion all over again. D3 = leveling ends at lv70, paragon begins. Paragon points increase base stats. Can infinitely increase stats once basic allocations are done but as it is tied to "xp" it takes a looooooong time. Incremental Torment tiers that drop greater quality of gear to upgrade with. Tier sets and Rift gems (only introduced in expansion) magnify damage values. D4 = leveling "progression" ends at lv50, paragon continues 51-100 (do paragon points continue past 100?). Leveling increases base stats as well as paragon points obtained via leveling. Paragon takes a looooooong time. Finite cap afaik.Gear quality goes up via leveling, forced into higher torment tiers due to soft ilvl cap but only a few tiers. Nightmare glyphs that interact with paragon board magnify damageThe only difference is that you don't have your Torment 16 friend powerleveling you to max level + 100 paragon cap in this game. Big deal, so you can't max endgame in 10 minutes. I typically find a same-level sigil while clearing out a nightmare dungeon anyway.I think the biggest annoyance is that horse acceleration sucks so it is a pain to travel to the dungeons.
