I feel like basing the release on the length of prior prepatches doesn't really necessarily make sense this time, since COVID is playing such a significant factor in the pushback of the release date. Could be wrong, but still.
Honestly, the fact that they didn’t give me a date just makes me believe we won’t see it until January. If it’s not out December 1st (a Tuesday) I don’t expect it this year. Hoping for mid November but since that’s only 2-3 weeks later I don’t think it’s going to happen.
Just open the beta blizz everyone is sick of 8.3 by now ... They're really gonna have shadowlands released 11 months after 8.3
I would personally like to see it delayed until December 29th or January 5th. There's just so much on the Beta that doesn't feel good right now, and even two months from now doesn't seem like it would fix everything that's broken. I'm in no rush. I want Shadowlands to launch with balance and polish because the bandaid fixes just DON'T work like they need to.
Way before the Oct 27th announcement, I was thinking that mid-dec release was the most realistic, with raid release mid-late january.

I honestly think it will release early to mid December. There are too many big games coming out in November.
I think if they want to keep their Season 1 cadence, and if November 24th is off the table (like I think it is), I think November 17 or December 15 aren't terrible. Would be more than happy to see it delayed until 2021. It could sort out some of the holiday issues, and give everyone full reassurance that they can release the best expansion possible with all the polish needed - definitely do not want a repeat of the "beta for azeroth" stuff again!
Also everybody suggesting early to mid November is delusional. There's no way they postponed the expansion's release to 1-2 weeks only.
