You can easily solo normal difficulty dungeons at this point
I haven't done any of these before...are they useful for leveling?
Are Dragonflight crafting patterns restricted to Normal/Heroic/Mythic, for can they be farmed in Follower dungeons?
I think this post is aimed more at people who aren't "over-geared" on multiple alts to face roll thru Normal mode. But then again, chances are those people might not be visiting Wowhead for info like this to begin with or not even know something like Wowhead exist.Still, it is a useful info on a new feature that people can use to earn some rewards that may otherwise have never. There are a LOT of players who simply don't ever wanna participate in LFG/LFD activity for various reasons and now they can do those dungeons with AI followers and chance to earn extra rewards.
you can also get a cute tuskarr dance party toy via brackenhide hollow! Happy Tuskarr Palooza
Kiros59 is fun, but not in a fun way... Anyways! Looking forward to solo TWT dungeons early on! :DEdit: typo.
Nokhud Offensive is actually painful as a follower dungeon. You very carefully fly from pack to pack that you need... aaaaand Garrick yeets herself at a pack of mobs nowhere near you. And then dies. And then wipes the group. I'm trying to get Breaths of Ohn'ahra on my hunter so I can thankfully just feign death when this happens, but god it's annoying and honestly slows progress to the point that it's as quick (read: slow af) as soloing the instance. Maybe it's not as bad in other dungeons, but in Nokhud it's just painful. I am very glad of having follower dungeons, and I know they are very much in their early, work-in-progress days, it's just frustrating watching an NPC be the reason for adding an additional 10 minutes to a run :-/
It's a great idea to copy FF14's system for this, but it leaves a lot to be desired in it's current iteration.-The XP nerfs mean you won't use it for leveling.-If you're farming the dungeon you're going to be at max level anyways, meaning you could likely solo it almost as quickly with your free Emerald Dream gear, and actually quicker if you have stealth or similar. -The normal gear isn't useful when you can just fly around for an hour and get full dreamsurge gear. -There's no way to strengthen your NPCs, or use it as evergreen content... which it wasn't designed to do, but it seems like a wasted opportunity for RPG elements. -Unlike Trusts there's not extra RP content in the dungeons based on the character's individual stories and experiences (Like when Alisaie meets her friend from the desert...)FF14 Squadrons and trusts just destroy the WoW follower dungeon model, and squadrons isn't exactly well liked either.(And I would get XP + seals + Wonderous Tales as well because it's got that square-enix polish)Decent first try, but they have a long way to go.
It's good for gathering mogs and especially for training.Cuz...
I would certainly argue, that Follower Dungeons aren't designed for efficient leveling or farming anyway. They are designed to get the "intended" experience, which usually isn't just killing the bare minimum of enemies and sneaking past everything else. The intended way is kinda the way of the murder-hobo, killing everything that even looks at you funny.Blizzard pretty much advertised this feature as a way of experiencing the dungeon in your own time, without slowing anybody else down. Nobody to complain if you wander around a bit to explore stuff that the efficient route isn't even getting close to. And it gives you tge opportunity to learn or at least see the very basics of the dungeon, without getting yelled at why you didn't kick that one mob that you have never seen before. And I would say, for that purpose the followers are working pretty well. Especially when you get late to the party. Because if you would level up your first character now and would get into a dungeon like Nokhud Offensive, there would be no way in hell to understand anything about that dungeon. The moment you catch up to the rest of the party, they would have finished the fight and fly off to the next pack. And god forbid you are the tank.
Don't forget the Easel toy from doing the two dungeom quests from the Azure Span.
For people saying you can solo it now, it everyone can solo on all class/specs. And the group members do some damage so if you’re not comfortable solo it’s better than nothing. That being said if you’re geared, a tank class, and/or have a class that can stealth straight to bosses you may be better off solo.Or just queue for the specific heroic dungeons with random people and face roll it.
