Come on, you're just forcing some of those. Storm's End and (especially) the Kingslayer don't have to reference anything other than the fights in WoW themselves. It just so happens such names are also used in the series, they're not necessarily A Song of Ice and Fire references.
This is awesome! Can't wait for more game of thrones and wow references to each other!
There were no sad events in season 3, it was my favorite season! The wedding was to die for. (horrible pun intended). Also, not necessarily WoW, but in Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne the final mission is called "A Symphony of Frost and Flame", which is an obvious nod to the book-series.
The first quest Horde do in Frostfire ridge is called "A song of Frost and Fire"
Some of those feel a little forced. And I also think you are missing a couple. There's a world quest in Val'sharah that rotates between killing two harpies: Seersei or Maelisandra. One is a coincidence, but two is clearly a reference. Definitely to Cersei and Melisandre.
I recently started the series and I'm now at the start of season 3 (late to the party I know) and I love it! I never noticed these before!
Jaime is best... to bad ther is not golden gauntlet for his arm :)
I think that the scene when the Night King kills Viserion is more a mix between the moment when Xavius kills Ysera in Val'sharah and when The Lich King raised Sindragosa.
Some of them look like biased to me (but maybe that's only me). I'd also like to mention Khaliisi. She's been there before GoT series were made so lots of people never noticed her.
One of the orc's racial mounts is a Dire Wolf and has GoT flavor text as well. Horn of the Dire Wolf
While i agree that some of those are forced, specially the Kingslayer. The rest of them specially the madking was spoke abouth and refenced before the patch came out, so i do believe those were place in there.I also saw many GoT fan in my realm pointing to Amelia Clark and many other stuff like the Mad king spore and others.
Regarding , which was part of Patch 3.3 (released December of 2009), didn't Game of Thrones season 1 first air in 2011 (two years after the title was available in wow)? Or do I have my dates mixed up regarding the implementation of the title? Or does the above list contain inspirations that Game of Thrones received from wow?
Have not played my DK all expansion and I laughed when I saw the "White Walker" talent and "Winter is Coming". Good stuff.
the show might have started in 2011 but the books started in the 90's. but i still don,t think its a reference, anyone who kills a king is called a kingslayer
You left out Khaliisi it's a clear reference to "khaleesi" the title of Daenerys given by the Dothraki
